The range consists of 40 colours which possess good transparency, excellent tinting strength and good working properties. Costs are kept to an economical level by replacing some of the more costly pigments with less expensive alternatives. Pigments derive from a number of sources: Some are natural products, notably the earths, eg. umbers, ochres; others come from metal compounds and are sometimes termed 'traditional' or 'genuine', eg. ultramarine. The distillation of petroleum yields an ever widening range of organic pigments which are often termed as 'modern'. Many of the pigments used in Cotman are organic. The Cotman Water Colour range has a more uniform consistency than the Professional Water Colour range and this benefits beginners as there is less to learn about each individual pigment. The Cotman Water Colour range also relates to the Winsor & Newton Professional Water Colour range, e.g. Burnt Sienna in both ranges has the same hue. This enables artists to use colours from both ranges with minimal adjustment to their technique. Traditionally the white of the paper provides the brilliance to water colour and can be used as highlights. However, some artists utilize Chinese White for highlights at the end of their painting or in dulling some colour mixtures down. ## Features - High-quality artist pigments - for these fine watercolour paints, high-quality pigments are used in high concentration according to proven recipes - Excellent luminosity - the brilliant, transparent and intense watercolour paints are characterised by a high colour strength - Vibrant colours – with the exceptional, very high-quality watercolour paints, you can give your artwork even more vibrancy - Large range of colours - the watercolours for beginners, advanced users and artists in over 40 different shades - International products have separate terms, are sold from abroad and may differ from local products, including fit, age ratings, and language of product, labeling or instructions. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Age Range Description | Kid | | Asin | B000OL3TQW | | Best Sellers Rank | #1,596 in Office Products (See Top 100 in Office Products) #10 in Kids' Watercolor Paint #53 in Art Paints | | Brand Name | Winsor & Newton | | Color | 10 Colours - Tube Set | | Color Code | 10 | | Container Type | Tube | | Country Of Origin | China | | Coverage | 0.8 - 0.96 m²/l | | Customer Reviews | 4.3 4.3 out of 5 stars (157) 4.3 out of 5 stars | | Dry Time In Hours | 4 | | Finish Type | Glänzend | | Full Cure Time | 20 Hours | | Global Trade Identification Number | 05012572005913 | | Included Components | 1 x WN Cotman Palette Set 0390646, XCFC646 | | Indoor Outdoor Usage | Outdoor | | Is Waterproof | False | | Item Form | Liquid | | Item Type Name | Watercolour paint | | Item Volume | 8 Milliliters | | Item Weight | 0.27 Kilograms | | Manufacturer | Winsor & Newton | | Model Name | Cotman | | Model Number | 0390646 | | Paint Type | Watercolor | | Part Number | 0390646 | | Size | 10 Tubes x 8 ml | | Special Features | Non Toxic | | Specific Uses For Product | Artwork | | Surface Recommendation | Paper | | Unit Count | 1 Count | | Upc | 094376892680 | | Water Resistance Level | Not Water Resistant | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Winsor & Newton - **Colour:** 10 Colours - Tube Set - **Finish type:** Glänzend - **Item volume:** 8 Milliliters - **Size:** 10 Tubes x 8 ml ## Images ![Cotman Water Colour Paint Palette Set, Set of 10, 8ml Tubes - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71XdDI6TAuL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Size, Style** options. ## Questions & Answers **Q: How do you refill the blocks?** A: I've read (on Winsor Newton's info page) that you cannot refill half pans with Winsor Newton watercolor tube paints, as they are formulated differently and will not work well when completely dry. However, Daniel Smith and Holbein watercolors can be used to refill your half pans. M. Graham also works well though they take a long time to dry in a pan because they have honey in them. **Q: How long does it last?** A: I have the 48 half pan set and I have had this palette for three years and It has lasted me! You can buy cartridges to replace the colors instead of a whole new palette. I love this palette! It is my first palette that I can refill! The paints are beautiful and I love combining this palette with tubes as well! But anyways to answer your question they will last you a long time! I have half pans that are lasting me forever and I paint every day! And these are full pans so they really will last you! I highly recommend these! **Q: Is the case air tight , non leaking for travel?** A: I have traveled across the world with this and kept it in a small ziplock baggie, and even when the colors are a bit moist there is no leaking into the bag that I've experienced. **Q: What are names of the 12 colors in the box?** A: Receive my box in June 10th and came with two repeated colors: 02 ultramarine, 02 intense blue :( still deciding if going to return. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excelente! *by on Reviewed in Brazil 6 November 2019* Amei!
