Sun Ez-Sport Recumbent Fenders, 20 X 26, Black

The fenders seem well made, sturdy plastic, the stays are substantial too and the hardware to attach them is good.That being said I can't comment on whether they work on Sun recumbents because I bought them to fit on a Rans Nimbus. My Recumbent never came with fenders so the best I could hope for was to find an inexpensive set and modify them to fit my bike which I did.

The fenders arrived and mounted on my RANS V2, though there were a few difficulties. The screws used to hold the brackets to the fenders took some persuasion to actually fit on the nut, and tightening them down was a challenge in-and of itself. The rear fender only has one bracket, even though there are holes for 2 on the fender. This causes it to rattle and shift while riding. Finally, there were no instructions or manuals included with the fenders, not even parts listings to order the second bracket. Even so, the fenders do work for my recumbent, and it's nice to see a set that is designed for the 20"/26" configuration.

I purchased this fender kit for my 2006 Sun EZ-Sport AX recumbent. The good news is the front fender fit the curvature of the 20" front tire well. It was all downhill from there. The rear fender fits poorly. Installed with the hardware provided, you can see an inch of space between the bottom of the fender and the top of the tire and there's no way to adjust the fit. The frame mounting holes do not align properly with the frame and you get only one fender brace. There should be two, like most other fenders have, in order to securely hold the fender from moving excessively as you ride. As it is now, the thin plastic will almost certainly break from vibration stress at it's attachment points. In fact, my fender broke off at the lower front frame attachment point while I was rolling it out the door for its first ride. It's worthless to me now. I would expect that a fender kit made by Sun for its own bikes to be very well made, durable, and to fit perfectly. This kit is none of that. Don't waste your money.

I've bought three sets of these and mounted them on a Vision R40, Rans V2 and a Tour Easy all recumbent bikes over the course of two years. tried different suppliers hoping somebody would have hardware to work with. You will need more hardware, it does not come with an angle peice for the front of the rear fender and you will need longer bolts if you have a rack. My brazeon used 5mm bolt with a .8 thread and remember to get "Threadlocker" as well. Seller how about an assortment of stainless hardware so we can fit easily to other bikes beside Suns. Note these fenders weighed 12 oz with the little hardware that comes with it.

one major issue. rubs tires on a sun ez-sport recumbent bike. So wtf is it good for if it rubs on the bike its supposed to fit?

Well designed equipment.

Although they are a little flimsy ....they do the job so I am satisfied.
