Beware dimensions if you’re used to Leuchtturm.
I needed a notebook urgently for a project. I chose the Moleskine over my usual Leuchtturm as the latter wouldn’t get delivered in time. Medium in Leuchtturm Land (blue notebook) is A5. Medium in Moleskine World (red notebook) is a lot smaller and thinner. Disappointed, but it’s my error. The Moleskine paper has less tooth than Leuchtturm and is much smoother, which I don’t like. I feel I don’t write as neatly, but this is could be my imagination. It also feels ever so slightly less thick. I’ll be using ballpoint ink only so not an issue. The stitching of the Moleskine is actually much better than the last couple of Leuchtturm I’ve had. All of the pages lie flat, while the Leuchtturm stitching has been wonky in places. The hardback covers appear to be of equal quality. The Moleskine elastic is superior to the Leuchtturm. It’s thicker and tighter which I like.I will miss the extra ribbon but that’s neither here nor there really.Later - Interestingly, I’ve already found the smaller size of the notebook a little more convenient for its intended purpose, note taking while reading books. Hurrah. I may be a Moleskine convert yet.

Poor quality paper
I have bought these classic notebooks for years because the quality has always been so good, but I was really shocked by the poor quality of the paper in this one. It is much lighter weight than the paper in the last one I bought. These are expensive notebooks and I would expect the paper to be sturdy and a good weight. It’s hard to show in a photo but the pages in this one are translucent. Not happy! I will buy a Leuchtturm next time. More pages for your money and the right quality paper.

Genuine?
I have had many moleskin notebooks in the past, I am not convinced this is a genuine item - it feels cardboard like and the paper feels low quality. It is the first one I have bought online rather than from a reputable stationer. The product information insert writing is also printed slightly skew, which would indicate that it has not gone through Moleskin quality control?

Love these notebooks, sad the Evernote one has gone away
The best notebook by far - XL, rigid covers, ruled. Perfect. My pen of choice is the Uniball Signo RT 0.38, ink doesn't bleed through the pages like it does with my fountain pen.As a big Evernote user I'm just sad the Evernote specific version has gone away.

I’ll pay more for the other versions
It’s ok, but the quality isn’t quite on par with the slightly more expensive Moleskine notebooks I’ve bought before
