The shag carpet of old has become a compacted, dirty mess. I truly do not know how old the carpet is. I received the carpet rake today. I put it together and tried it right away. It's working! It's fluffing up the compacted parts of carpet where we walk the most and helping to pull up old debris and pet hair. My vacuum is going to hate me but this is great! With a little elbow grease (I rake the carpet hard) it should lift the rest of the compacted areas as well. None of the bristle tips on the rake broke during my rough raking. When I'm done raking and vacuuming I can then use a carpet cleaner.
