NOT compatible with iphone. It is compatible with Android. I looked at this item at several different sites so I am not sure where I saw that it was mobile phone compatible. That’s my fault. But it came as a blow to me when I couldn’t use it with my iPhone. I am using the microscope outside so it’s much more difficult to use with a laptop than with a phone, but it’s doable.The microscope has no battery so it must be attached with a cable. It’s difficult to use when the sun is bright. For what I am using it for the magnification is probably about 100-120 x. It’s difficult to focus in the field,it would be much easier to use where you can use the supplied stand. Even though it isn’t easy to use it does work and it works well. It takes great pictures.The instructions are lame. At first I was unable to make it work. On the connecting cable there is a dial, it may as well be an on off switch, it came turned all of the way down rendering it inoperable. Also in the set up menu you just have to guess which selection to make. With some trial and error the connection is made.Once you work out the kinks you are good to go. I had been using a little hand held microscope and this gives me a much more precise view. I think for the money the end product is impressive.

Cool if u are looking to really zoom in .got it for coins ...not a good coin scope it zooms to much and it was a pain to get to jive with windows 10 .
