Nice Pie Iron, Good Size
I have handled and own a few different sizes and brands of pie iron and this one is the one I tend to grab the most while campfire cooking. The size is good for hotdogs, burritos, a single serving of hashbrowns, etc. The space inside is easy to utilize. (Some double ones have this odd middle part divider thing... this doesn't have that which is a good thing.)The handles are very sturdy and heavy. It was easy to "season" and I love the mountain logo on the one iron. I kinda wish they had put the mountain as their logo on both.If you are new to Pie Irons: just realize they are heavy. These aren't really meant to be your only way of cooking your meals while camping. That would be impractical. (Maybe in a survival situation, but not while weekend camping) These are more for your entertainment, much like making Smores. It's fun to play around with and make random munchies while poking the fire. We tried out cookie dough and found that was pretty entertaining since you have to burn a few cookies and sacrifice them to the fire before nailing down the technique. This is what makes pie irons fun to have and I definitely recommend this one if you are buying one for the first time. Do your research and season it (even though it comes "pre seasoned") before you go, and you'll have a nice experience.

Great quality Campfire sandwich maker.
No complaints at all. You can make a grilled reuben just fine, and it turns out great. No iron taste, and seasoned nicely. Do not wash in soap and water. Do not use a course scouring pad on it, if you do a light soap and wash on the outside. Dry it thoroughly and light coat of oil to prevent rust. Zero soap and water on the inside. If you do be sure to season the pans again really well. Never wash a cast iron pan. I recommend this for campfire RV type and not for bush crafting adventures.

Quite nice and heavy cast iron pie/sandwich maker.
Got this cast iron pie/sandwich maker by watching someone camping with it on YouTube. The sandwich they made came out super crispy and golden brown on the outside. This one is great, but quite heavy. It has an option to have two different lengths for the handle. Just in case you really want to cook something fireside or just on the stove. The campfire option, doubles the length of the metal handles. But they do have nice wooden handles/grips at the end to keep the heat away from your hands. The actual pie/sandwich maker is made of solid and heavy cast iron. It seems to be pre-seasoned and ready to go cook something inside. I also like that it can be unhinged to make two smaller rectangular pans.My one gripe is that the description is quite misleading, as it says it is Japanese, but in fact this is Made in China not Japan. Other than that, it is really quite well made and designed.

Chef quality Mountain Pie Iron
Treat it with care and it'll last a lifetime. We use chainmail to clean it and avocado oil to keep it healthy. It's nice to be able to make panini size mountain pies with these and with the adjustable handle you can make these at home over stove or grill (done it a bit).Bought these to replace our cheaper and lesser quality ones and no going back.

So versatile !
I was recently introduced to the "pie iron" for my camping meals so was curious to try this. I've really started to love cast iron cooking over a camp fire for the even and intense heating of food. This one was a nice design with the long metal rods which screw into the halves of the iron. The rectangular shape was large, but too small for a slice of bread, so you have to work around that. Another thing about the design is that there are ridges inside the iron which isn't a problem if you oil/spray the surface before the food....yet I did have gooey goodness ooze out from my pastry and the ridges get in the way of easily cleaning afterwords. But some soaking, scraping, and effort got the thing cleaned up pretty well.Overall, I love the concept and want to explore more recipes using the pie iron.

Easy to use
I love the handle lengths! Might’ve preferred one more link as my hands were getting a little hot, but perfect otherwise! Obviously the cast iron has some extra weight so I had to help my kids, but cooks much better with cast iron. Had many delicious meals my first weekend using g them!

Handles are not safe to use
Loks good and feels good but doesnt work so good. First off its very heavy. Second the handles twist during use and the non stick does indeed stick. Used one time and returned.
