Self titled CD of the musical development of DAY26. Their journey kicks off with the single, 'Got Me Going' produced by studio heavy hitter, Mario Winans. The collection features production from The Runners (T.I., Chris Brown, Rick Ross), Jim Bean, Grammy Award-winner Adonis (Diddy, Usher, Danity Kane), and multiple Grammy Award-winner Bryan Michael Cox (Usher, Mary J. Blige, Mariah Carey), featured on Making The Band helming the quintet's debut single, 'Exclusive (No Excuses)'. America's favorite boy band- Brian, Will, Q, Mike, and Robert are back for another season of music, drama, and Diddy on MTV's hit reality series, 'Making The Band 4'. The new group, hand-picked by Diddy and collectively known as DAY26, is reunited with surprise solo winner, Donnie, to begin their journey into the music industry.

Day26
I followed the creation of this group on the MTB series and have to admit, was a little worried at the rushed time frame to make this album. I thought it'd be another horrible "hip pop" entry and that there'd be an overabundance of guest rappers on tracks.Happily I was DEAD WRONG - Diddy stuck to his word and he & his producers have constructed a really good debut album that stayed true to modern day r&b with limited hip hop elements and that already has me anticipating their sophomore set! The producers did a great job of balancing uptempo and ballad tracks to allow listeners to truly hear & enjoy each guy's individual vocals as well as enjoying the harmonies laid by the group. The guys' harmonies on each track is terrific but the standout vocalist to me is Robert (with his little "divo" self!). While watching them record their tracks, I felt that Robert & Mike would stand out because they have distinctive vocals but I could barely distinguish Mike on any track and unfortunately: Que, Willie & Brian's vocals are virtually indistinguishable to me so perhaps on their sophomore set, these 3 will get more of a chance to show off their abilities. The standout tracks to me are:WHAT IT FEELS LIKE - Robert is my favorite singer in this group and his solo makes this track special to meIF IT WASN'T FOR U - I love the musical arrangement - the drums & horns make it a distinctive trackI'M THE REASON - again, love the musical arrangement - the drum beat is crazy (in the best way), this should definitely be a released singleGOT ME GOING - although they sounded a little rough performing live, this track's production is EXCELLENT - I liken it to a track relay team smoothly exchanging the baton as each vocalist exchanges the leadIN MY BED - great track that I can imagine being blasted from cars this summerEXCLUSIVE - hearing it so many times on the show made the song more accessible, I think it's a great trackSINCE U BEEN GONE - excellent song construction but my only complaint is that Bri, Willie & Que sound so much alike that I couldn't tell who was singing, the harmonies again are beautiful and Rob's solo (again) makes the track hot to meThere are only 2 tracks that I really don't like are:SILLY LOVE - I have tried to listen to this track a few times but honestly, I hate the lead vocalist (can't tell who it is) - his voice is like nails screeching down a chalkboard to meARE WE IN THIS TOGETHER - the beats are TOO big & overpower the trackOverall I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this disc and hope that Diddy & co make a smart choice for a second single to help spark interest in this group.

Worth The Wait
After falling in love them all the members on the show I pre-ordered the album because I just knew I'd love it. I was 100% correct. From the beginning of the show I had chosen the very same guys as Diddy with the exception of Q, I had Brian H in his place. But Diddy made a GREAT choice because all their voices blend fabulously. Brian is the master at hitting those high notes just at the right time in the song, track 7 "Come In" is a great example of that. Roberts's ad libs while on the show I thought he was trying too hard, but on the album they flowed. Glad he was able to get over the B!tchA$$Ne$$ lol My favorites are:Got Me GoingCome In (My Door's Open)Are We In This TogetherWhat it feels Like < ----this is baby making music at its bestSince You've Been Gone...when Brian sings "I know you said the last time was the last time but baby all I need is one more last time" Oh that sounded so HEART FELT and sincere. I love it!!!Don't Fight the FeelingHonorable mentionSilly Love....mostly because it has that throw back kind of New Edition feel to it..unforuately they were children when they had that vibe and these are grown folk lolExclusive...it's a good song just heard it to many timesCome with Me

Pretty Good Buy
This album is one of the few that I can listen to without skipping songs. I actually listened to the album from start to finish without getting bored and that is a rare find these days. There are typical love ballads on the cd as well as fresh, dancy club hits. My only complaint about the singers themselves is that their voices tend to get a little whiny at times, they need to work on their pitch and if the can't hit the high notes then they shouldn't try to. My fave songs on the album are as follows: I'm the Reason, Got Me Going (their single that is out right now) Silly Love, What It Feels Like, and Don't Fight the Feeling. Day 26's fan base will consist of teens and 20 somethings and they will be as successful as other male R&B groups such as Jagged Edge and 112. Having their own tv show "Making the Band" will help to boost their stardom. So if you like cathchy and trendy pop and/or R&B music purchase this album, if you prefer more soulful, "grown-sounding" R&B music then save your money for something else.

A WONDERFUL Surprise!!!
OK, so I'm not going to give a summary of every track because a few others have done an excellent job at that already (I agree 100% with Broky's review).I decided to give these guys a chance after seeing the show and it turns out that my favorite songs weren't even highlighted on the show! The production of this album coupled with the overall quality of the group members' soulful voices is a breath of fresh air in this stale music industry where everyone sounds alike... I love the drum taps in Come With Me, Are We In this Together and I'm the Reason. Everyone is entitled to their opinion I suppose, but I don't see how some people on this board are "disappointed" with this album. This album DOES NOT disappoint! Overall, this album has a nice variety of slow jams and club bangers. I'm so happy that I downloaded the entire album to my ZUNE! Can't wait to workout to this during the week, clean the house on the weekends and play in the background on those intimate evenings...
