Easy to read
Fantastic resource to have, easy to read, includes the explanation and the reason of the answer (disclaimer- the questions on the book - doesn’t exist on the actual test but gives you the concept of how to review the question) I had significant improvement on my score

Succinct and helpful information
This review guide provides an excellent summary of relevant information on each of the 8 competencies of the FTCE. I think it was instrumental in my success on the exam. I strongly recommend this guide, especially if you only need a nice review just before the exam. I am also quite pleased with the value of this book, as there are some review guides out there that are ludicrously expensive. This one was very reasonably priced at less than $20.There are also two practice exams in the book, allowing you the opportunity to have a trial run before the real thing.

Good Study Guide
I agree with a few of the other reviews - the book is well organized, but the test is nothing like ANY of the books!! When I took the test last weekend, I almost stopped to ask if I was taking the correct test. I passed the test...and since this was literally the only book I read before taking the test, I have to give it credit. On a practical side, the book is organized well and has lots of terms/concepts. I wrote down a few pages/concepts to reference when creating lesson plans. After taking the test, I looked at a few of the other books and I still recommend this one.

Passed on the first try.
I purchased this and passed on the first try. I used the book as my primary source of information and studied for 3 1/2 weeks. The book has its pros and cons, keep in mind this exam is hard. On the positive side there is a diagnostic test, which helps identify your weakness. However, the book could use some more practice questions at the end of each competency, the questions are somewhat similar to the ones on the FTCE test. I recomend you studty this book, but also google practice questions for each competency to improve your chances of passing.

I feel like it was helpful to understand these types of questions ...
I just took the professional test in February and passed. The questions from the pre-tests don't match up with the questions on the test. I feel like it was helpful to understand these types of questions though, but I honestly thought I failed the test at first. I took all of the pre-tests over a course of a few weeks and skimmed the book the night and day before the test.

The book does not match the format of the questions on the exam.
This book is full of terminology, which is great if you feel like that's what you currently need to focus on. But it does not provide enough scenario based questions throughout the book. The practice exams are a piece of cake. I seriously went to take my exam feeling so confident... I ended up not passing with this book. The book is really easy to learn but it does not prepare you for the level of difficulty the questions are formatted on the exam. I was having a hard time understanding the questions on the exam. Please note that I studied this book from front to end. I mastered the book and it was not enough to pass the exam.

Not quite on point
After a ton of research, I settled on this book to prep for the FTCE Professional Educator test. I had two strong, successful diagnostics under my belt when I went in to the test and felt like I had a pretty good mastery of the material in the book. I'd say over half the test was straight up not covered in here at all. I passed, but some was common sense and some was good guessing and luck, I'm sure. Because the material differed so widely, I can't recommend this. (*Not an education student. Career changer without education background.)
