After more than 10 years, this is still the hair color I come back to
I’ve used Just For Men products on and off for more than 10 years, including Touch of Gray and the shampoo-in options. This Easy Comb-In version is easily my favorite. WHY I KEEP COMING BACK TO IT I have short brown hair that is now very gray on the sides, so the gray becomes noticeable pretty quickly as my hair grows. This is easy to apply, much less messy than the shampoo-in color I’ve tried, and I can usually get two applications from one package because my hair is short. More importantly, the result looks natural. I’ve actually had soccer friends comment several times over the years about how good my hair coloring looks. That’s particularly funny to me because I don’t maintain it religiously and sometimes let myself go pretty gray between applications. When I color it again, though, it blends well enough that it doesn’t scream “I dyed my hair.” DON’T GO TOO DARK I learned this one the hard way. I’ve tried dark brown and even black, and my wife absolutely hated the result. Going suddenly from gray to very dark hair looked obvious and unnatural on me. Medium Brown works much better with my natural coloring and gives me the result I’m after. Touch of Gray also works, and I like its comb applicator, but it simply doesn’t cover enough gray for me anymore. My only difficulty with this version is getting the temples and very front completely even. And definitely use the included gloves. I’ve skipped them before and regretted it. After more than a decade of trying different approaches, this remains the one I buy. It is simple, relatively clean and, most importantly, gives me a natural-looking result.

Here's a secret...I use this on my beard!
This actually works great on my beard. I hate when I use a product on my beard and it's unnaturally dark and looks dyed. This products leaves just enough of the grey behind that it looks natural. Highly recommend. It's a little pricy because I keep my beard short so I have to redo about every 2 weeks. However, I only use 1/2 a tube each time. It will get too dark if you leave it on too long. It takes a little practice to get it just right.

Works great, but I prefer the shampoo-in formula
With Just for Men, you can choose the shampoo-in formula or this comb-in one. They both work great, but have some differences. The main advantage of the comb-in one is that it doesn't go too dark if you leave it in for a few extra minutes. Supposedly, there is an absolute limit to its darkening power. Also, there is no mixing needed and the applicator may be easier for some people to apply. The major disadvantage of the comb-in version is that it heavily darkens your skin wherever it's applied. It can get really dark after a few minutes, and takes several days to gradually fade away. You can rub Vaseline around your hairline to combat this, but if you don't get it PERFECT, you will quickly see your mistakes in the dark outline on your skin. For this reason, I would NOT advise using this within 2-3 days of a photo shoot, party, or any other kind of public gathering. The shampoo-in formula has this effect, but not nearly as strong. Also, the comb-in formula oxidizes quickly so you are not supposed to re-use it. With the shampoo-in formula, you can mix half of each bottle in a container and easily get 2 uses per single packages if you have short hair. Anyway, they both do exactly what they claim to, smell decent, and are much cheaper than salon hair coloring, so I would definitely recommend Just for Men to anyone with some gray they want to get rid of. It would be nice if Just For Men made a touch-up product for the sides! Also, it's annoying when your color is out of stock and I wish they would work harder to keep them all in-stock on Amazon.

Hair and Beard still solid gray after following directions
Well, where do I start with the Just For Men Easy Comb-In Color? If you're expecting it to cover up your gray hair, you might as well invest in a magic wand because this product is about as effective as whispering spells to your strands. I used it hoping for a follicular miracle, but all I got was a half-hearted attempt at camouflage. The gray coverage is like playing hide-and-seek with a toddler – you know it's there, but it's not putting much effort into staying hidden. I ended up with patches of gray that looked like they were on a rebellious protest against conformity. Just For Men, you had one job – and apparently, that job was to let my gray hair party in plain sight. The comb-in application is a comedy of errors. It's like trying to paint a masterpiece with a broomstick – good luck achieving precision. I combed, I waited, I hoped for a transformation, and what did I get? A hair color that seems to have missed the memo on covering up grays. It's like my grays are waving at me, saying, "Thanks for the attempt, but we're still here, and we're not going anywhere." The scent is another delightful aspect. It's like the fragrance engineers thought, "How can we make this experience worse?" The answer: create an aroma that's a cross between a chemical spill and regret. Nothing says "I tried to cover my grays" like a lingering scent that screams "industrial accident." In conclusion, if you're hoping for Just For Men Easy Comb-In Color to work some magic on your grays, prepare for disappointment. It's like trying to stop a leak with a colander – ineffective and messy. Save your time, money, and olfactory senses by embracing the silver fox within. Just For Men, you've managed to make gray hair trendy because, thanks to you, I'm proudly flaunting my rebellious streak.
