Great for my succulents
This is my second time purchasing this product. It did have a slight odor this go around but it wasn’t too bad - it did dissipate. My succulents LOVE this soil. I have been using it for quite some time (probably a year +) and I don’t plan to change. The bag lasts me for a while but I only have about 5 3-5 inch succulents that I’m dealing with. I find it drains well.

What smell? What mold?
It doesn't smell like sulfur, but it smells like soil if that's what you meant by smelling "BAD". I used it for my succulents, it's been a month, and no molds, no mushrooms, no gnats. It's very clean. I think I'll be using this for a year for just one plant I own. I love it! The negative reviews really get the REAL customers off, but I'm telling you, plant lover, this might be it for you. Or if you have the time, go to home depot instead. But if you're buying online and thru amazon, buy this.

My plants love it!
This soil is fabulous! I have a difficult time growing two of my favorite semi-succulent plants: a string of hearts and cascading ruby red peperomia despite using a different brand of catus and succulent soil. With springtime here, I decided to replant each one in this soil. Within 3 days of replanting them along with pumice, I can already see the beginning of new growth on each plant. That has never happened before. I also repotted my blue star fern at the same time using this soil and the new growth is already visible. Great product!

Had to throw out because it smelled like sulphur!
Had success with this brand in the past, but last two bags were off. This last one smelled of sulphur when I opened it, very very sour. I had to throw it away. The previous bag was ok, but the jade planted in it died within months of being repotted in it (and I've never had a jade die on me before). And the remainder of that bag of soil smelled mildewy when I opened it again (yes it was sealed and stored properly. So I'm done.
