This is a two-prong plug for use with ungrounded wiring. The plastic is sturdy. It is easy to disassemble, wire, and reassemble. The wire clamping plates inside the socket hold the wire leads firmly in place. It is easy to slip the stranded wire under the plates and then tighten the plate screw down. The plug is not waterproof or water resistant and should not be used where it would be exposed to wet weather or conditions.I purchased these to salvage one old trouble light and to make several new custom trouble lights. The photo shows the salvaged trouble light, with the only salvaged part being the cage. I had a waterproof two wire bulb socket in my parts supply. I connected the two leads directly to the Starelo plug i.e. no splicing of additional wire. The strain relief clamp holds the two leads firmly in place. I pushed the plug into the wall receptacle and it instantly lit with no flicker and no sparking or smoke from the plug. (I added a plug-in inline switch for convenience because this lamp is intended to be used with an extension cord). NOTE: Because of the plug's limitation, this is an indoor lamp despite having a waterproof bulb socket.I also used these plugs to make some 16 gauge non-grounded extension cords from damaged 16 gauge extension cords. My house has old (1950) wiring and most receptacles are two prong. These are very useful, well constructed basic plugs. I will buy these again if I have additional needs for this type.

ok - these are much less expensive than name brand , but not quite as convenient. I fixed 3 damaged extension cords . I learned that making some alignment marks before taking plugs apart makes life easier when re-assembling. also, you can't tighten the strain relief until after you screw the plus back together - there's no room for wires to bend. the first one took 10 minutes (took 3 tries), the last 2 only 5 min total (it gets easier with experience). once installed, they are just fine.

The screws / fasteners for connecting the power cord wire were not as sturdy as needed. Had to reach in with needle nose pliers and straighten

Used for my vacuum cleaner. I had to use tweezers to get a snug connection, but it’s strong and works well. Does what it’s supposed to do.

Good quality and way less expensive than the big box stores.

Its cheaper compared to other brands. I will be using this for my car heater plugs.
