Works very well
So far it has worked very well , it was purchased to change the oil on a Range Rover which has a dedicated drain pipe at the top of the engine . The largest tube supplied is just the right size to fit over the drain point . The only problem is that the tubes are not long enough to reach from the engine pay to the ground at the side of the car . I had to place the pump on a table at the side of the car . Two or three pumps and the oil starts to flow , The 9 litres capacity is not quite enough for a full Range Rover , I had to poor a little out of the pump and continue . It drained the sump completely with no mess in around 5 minutes and the oil it easy to transport in the pump to the recycling centre. There is no need to pump the handle too many times just keep the pressure low enough to do the job . It is well worth the price and makes the job easy and clean .

Was sceptical at first- now I’m a convert
If your oil filter is mounted at the top of your engine then oil sucking is a no brainer. You can perform an oil change without scrabbling about under the car, keep your clothes clean and do the job at home saving a lot of money. This Shoze extractor is a great product and a wise investment. Easy to use, strong and effective. My only gripe is that it is a bit fiddle to clean, but that could just be me. Regards E.R.

Good sturdy pump but the tubes are a bit short.
Pros: - Good quality pump - Good section of tube sizes - Easy to use and clean afterwards - Minimal mess - Decent oil size. Cons: The tubes are very short - too short to pump oil from the dip-stick and have on the floor. Two options: 1) put it on a stool or 2) daisy-chain two of the tubes together which should then give you enough length to leave the pump on the ground.

Job done, well impressed.
9l version. Well impressed. The pipes are too short, but that’s because they can be connected together. Took me less than 5 minutes, to draw out all the oil. Though in this picture I used the largest and the smallest hoses, in the end I switch to the largest and the medium hoses which drew out the oil faster. Pumped it four times and it did its thing all by itself, stopping when no more oil to suck. For storage I plugged each end of the hoses to stop dripping with paper tissue and zip tied them to the unit.

It has worked perfectly
With engines which have oil filters accessible from the top, I would probably never do it the conventional way again. It saves time from jacking the car up, removing the undertray, placing a tray underneath the car hoping nothing will drip outside of it, still having to poor it afterwards into a container, risking some extra dripping on the floor. Even with cars where you still need to jack it up to remove the oil filter, the other benefits mentioned above are still there. Regarding its reach, you can either use just one pipe directly between the pump and the dipsticktube, or use a large pipe provided as an extension pipe, connecting the pump to the one you will be using inside the dipstick tube. So there's no need to raise the pump up for extra reach. Another great thing was that as you pump it, it keeps negative pressure inside the container, so once you pump it a few times, you can start doing the extra work (oil filter, air filter, etc) whilst the oil is being sucked automatically, with just a few extra pumps here and there to keep the flow going. Also, as you don't touch the oil at all as you would normally do when draing it through the sump plug, you can start draining the oil with the engine boiling hot, allowing a very fast flow due to the lower viscosity. So in general I found it easier, faster and cleaner than the standard method. As an ex-VW Tech, who's done thousands of oil changes over the years, I couldn't see any disadvantage of this pumping method over the standard one. Veredict: I was happy with it and recommend it.

Excellent
This product really sucks, which is exactly what I bought it for. Arrived promptly, well packaged. I like the fact it had no instructions, and they rely on your common sense to put it together. Seriously, I'm tired of being patronised by too many safety warnings and bad line drawings when something is obvious. I used this to remove the oil from my petrol mower. In the past, I have had to lift the mower onto a workbench and top it back and leave it in position for several minutes while the oil trickled into a pan. This fiendishly cunning device extracted the oil in a minute or so. Big tube to get most of it out quickly; small tube to get the rest out. Holds 7 litres, so I don't have to empty it every time, and it has an easy pour spout so I won't spill it. Also planning to use it on the motorbike. Excellent piece of kit.

Shoze 9L Manual Vacuum Oil Pump. Initial review
The 9L oil vacuum pump drainer looks generally OK and is good value. (I have not used it yet, so just reviewing initially on what is received). PLEASE NOTE: From the item images, description and details, it is not clear or accurate with regards to what tube pipe sizes and quantity are included. As in the image of the item "product description" for the 9L unit I have attached to this review, it clearly shows and specifies that 4 x PP (Polypropylene) pipes are included in 4mm, 6mm, 8mm and 10mm. However, on the front page it describes just 3 x PP pipes of 4mm, 6mm and 10mm., plus a copper pipe. To help others confused by this; There are actually only 3 x pipe, of 4mm, 6mm and 10mm, (no 8mm pipe) but there is also another short (60cm long) 4mm copper tube? I don't know what the purpose of this copper pipe is, except maybe to use as a dip stick/measuring device. The PP pipes each measure approximately 115cm in length, and 2x pipes can be connected together to make a total available length of 230cm from the top of the pump unit. The rubber pipe connectors are not great and can disconnect accidentally quite easily, so, I will probably purchase some longer PP pipe, and better push fit / locking pipe reducing connectors for more length and more secure connection of pipes). Also, the main pipe connection adapter to the pump unit is only a push fit with "o" ring seal, which isn't ideal, as this could also become disconnected quite easily in use, (would have been better with a bayonet type fitting or similar) but with care should be OK. Time will tell. The included instructions (image attached) are VERY poor in terms of content and language. there is no description of how many times to pump the unit or anything, but it is fairly obvious to anyone how this works hopefully. Just remember to, don't over pump (I would suggest no more than 10 pumps initially, and if the flow stops, give it a few more pumps as necessary. It does have some kind of simple pressure relief valve, I assume to prevent over vacuum pressuring, but I would not rely on it!. Also, make sure the engine oil is hot or at least warm before draining, as this will make the job much quicker as the oil is much less viscous, but it does state not to exceed 85 degrees C. There are markings moulded into the body of the unit to indicate fill level volume, at 2L, 4L, 6L, and 8L, but there is no horizontal line to define exactly where that actual level is, or any graduations between them, thus can only be used as a rough guide. So, 3 stars for now. I will update after I have used it fully. No complaints over the price I paid (£37.04 on prime). Hopefully, this review will help others who are considering making a purchase.

A must if you're going to do Automotive DIY.
What I liked about this is it WORKS ! bieutefuly. Tested it first in my kitchen sink "don't tell the wife " bieuteful, it worked, and after using the pump for a few strokes, it continued to siphon off after I stopped pumping. And then used it on my car "my brother's " applying the same processes and the same it continued to siphon off the engine oil. With me moving the suction hoses further into the engine sump through the oil dipstick, surching for more until I heard glug glug, the end , no more oil in the sump . Then on to the next job. Conclusion if you have no room or getting under the car to drain the oil will be difficult well this method is the best way and the most efficient and convenient if you're working from home . And read the instructions that come with it. Very useful for you to understand the basics of how it works.
