Suzuki Violin School, Vol 1

This is definitely the book for beginners. My child has been playing the violin for over 7 years and still refers back to it and uses it to brush up on her skills. We play the CD in the car because repetition is key. She will also play along with the CD. This was the best deal on the book. It's a must have

Fantastic for a beginner like me.

The recordings sound pretty low fi. I'm going to give it and the book another shot. But, I think I would get a lot more out of it with an instructor, rather than just trying to learn at home.

My daughter uses it and so far so good.She just started to take lesson and 6 years old and able to read it herself.

I learned to play the violin with the suzuki method when I was a child. I remember listening to the cassette tapes. On one side of the tape was a violin playing while a piano accompanied. The flipside was the piano by itself so that I could play along. I was disappointed that this CD does not have the songs that my child can play along with. Other than that, it's the same as I remember.

The tempo is very fast, especially for my small children starting Suzuki Violin book 1. Also, the piano accompaniments were recorded backwards, from the last song to the first, making it very confusing if you are trying to play along with the CD.

Good sound. No scratches.

David Nadien's CD is a great version - it includes the piano accompaniments so that your child can play with the CD.

Diese CD habe ich zum Suzuki-Heft gleich mitbestellt. Kann ich nur empfehlen. Sehr gute Lernhilfe und es fällt einem wesentlich leichter als wenn man nur das Heft zur Hand hat, zumal sonst evtl. ohne CD einige Noten vielleicht nicht richtig spielen würde. Wie gesagt, die CD ist eine sehr gute Lernhilfe und sehr zu empfehlen. Ich bin jedenfalls begeistert.

Das Buch ist sehr gut für Kinder zum Geigenlernen geeignet. Vorfällen unterstützt es die Eltern ihre Kindern beim üben zu unterstützen. Es sollte immer mit der CD verwendet werden, da die Kinder dann die Stücke zuhause üben können.

C'est dommage que la méthode Suzuki ne soit pas plus connue dans les pays francophones. Elle permet une approche très efficace à la musique classique. Je ne l'enseigne pas exclusivement mais mon enseignement est basé en grande partie sur la mémoire et l'écoute et s'aligne donc bien avec les principes de Suzuki. Les morceaux sont bien alignés au niveau et font progresser en douceur.

von der Musiklehrerin. Wir hören die Musik immer beim Autofahren und so prägt sich mein Sohn die Stücke schon einmal ein, die er bald auf der Geige zu spielen gedenkt.
