Primary Math 2A: Home Instructor's Guide

Honestly, I just love this Home Instructor's Guide! I didn't go to school to be a teacher, but here I am (years down the road) deciding to homeschool. Now, don't get me wrong. I know my 1, 2, 3s just like the next person. And I wouldn't have decided to homeschool if I didn't think I could teach a thing or two. But this book will make anyone a stellar teacher!It works by teaching a concept in multiple ways. When you explain and demonstrate a concept to your child, it's beautiful to watch the wheels in his mind start turning. Of course, when you explain and demonstrate the concept in another way, and his mind starts buzzing, it's the most exciting thing when he ties the two together. But if you play a game with him with cards or blocks or something, and his brain literally POPS when he sees how this concept is utilized practically, and he's beaming at you from ear to ear, that's when you feel like a REALLY GREAT teacher!I would recommend this book to anyone. Actually, my sister-in-law is a certified teacher, and I recommended it to her :) I pray that you have an enjoyable time teaching your child math at home.

Excellent math curriculum for 1st and 2nd graders. Our daughter is in second grade and we started her here after using the primary mathematics / singapore math site placement tests to see where to start her. The tests corresponded perfectly with the curriculum they recommended she start with...

Very well written. Great explanations for eachLesson and additional activities and games to reinforce concepts. Syllabus in front especiallyHelpful to break down lessons into daily bites.

People told me that the teacher manual wasn't needed, however, I'm glad I bought it. I'm good at teaching math, but still found these books useful. This text made it clear that Singapore teaches for understanding, and that is what I want. This reassured me that Singapore is the right choice for our family.

This was absolutely needed for teaching Singapore the right way.

I couldn't teach Singapore math effectively without this guide. I need to read it thoroughly in order to instruct effectively, but the lessons are short and filled with additional hands on activities.

Have not had to use the Instruction part of the book very much yet, but the answers are included in the back of this book.

Excellent program! Very advanced, but with all the tools and resources needed to instill a deep understanding of the concepts presented. Item arrived on time and in perfect condition.
