Very helpful information about all species of tortoise
Having just bought two baby tortoises, this book was very helpful in explaining the different types of tortoises and how they differ from each other. It is more general than buying a book on a particular type so does not go into too much depth about any one species. However, it does give help on feeding and caring which are the most important things to know when starting out!

Not useful for prospective owners
I was recommended this by the breeder I bought my Tortoise from. I have a Hermann. In honesty there is very little in there that is about the Hermann specifically. Its more a ‘Jack of all master of none’ Tortoise book. I wouldn’t re-buy it and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who wishes to learn how to keep a Tortoise. there’s just not enough information.

If you have a tortoise...:
Seems obvious but if you have or are getting a tortoise then this book provides a good “how to do”....everything guide for your pet. From bedding, to temperature, to feeding and so on.If you don’t have a tortoise then this isn’t the book for you....

Great beginner book
Great book with general tortoise advice. Would advise anyone thinking of getting a tortoise to read this. However the downside is that it gives very general advice on all species of tortoise so there isn't room in there for more detailed advice on individual species of tortoise. If you wanted more detailed advice another book would be better.
