Works great for preventing sweat-through. Pricey, but worth it.
Why did you pick this product vs others?: If you sweat a lot when having to do a presentation before a group, this might work for you. This has really saved my suits, etc from perspiration. Moisture wicking: Really absorbs perspiration and prevents sweat-through. They are pricey. I paid more for this than almost any dress shirt I own. But it does what it says; and it does greatly reduce the need to dry-clean my suit jackets.

Basically an Armpit Diaper
I stumbled upon this product while researching solutions to my recently acquired sweating issue. I had no idea that such a shirt product existed. So I am writing this for people in that situation too. I have anxiety/stress induced sweating issues. I would not say itโs overly excessive. But I will sweat through my dress shirt every day at work and on weekends I am much better. To the point that I keep a stash of undershirts in my desk to change into after lunch. And I have a system where I shut my door and dry my dress shirt using a space heater. Anyhoo, I am happy with this product in the context of what it is: a diaper shirt. Upon inspection, it seems to have a semi-permeable material (think, the Tyvek sheets that you see around houses on construction sites) sewn into the underarms. With additional cotton layers for absorptionโฆ in other words, a diaper. This way, water vapor can get through but liquid cannot. The product is very well assembled and seems excellent quality. The absorbent area is large and well placed. The rest of the shirt is a fairly normal cotton shirt with excellent length to stay tucked-in (regular undershirt manufacturers should take note on Thompsonโs length). Basically what happens is, you peeโฆI mean sweatโฆ like โnormalโ (if youโre reading a review of this product youโre not normal, by the way) and the sweat absorbs in the designated area but canโt get through that membrane to stain your outer shirt. I can say that it definitely 100% works for me. Now thatโs not to say this product doesnโt have some drawbacks. But that does not mean this is not a 5 star product; it does exactly as it says it does. First drawback is comfort. The underarm area has several layers so itโs bulky in that area. And itโs not a cool (temperature-wise) shirt. So if your sweating is more heat-related and less stress-related this shirt might be an issue, Iโm not sure. Also, by later afternoon youโre going to have a full diaper. Itโs soggy and can be uncomfortable. Albeit, your outer shirt will be stain-free. The other thing is, you can really only wear this with a long sleeve outer shirt, maybe a polo would work. If they could invent something to be worn under a regular t-shirt that would really be something. Based on my experience and looking at other reviews, you may find the sizing tricky. I can tell you that I normally buy large undershirts and a L Thompson was perfect (it was a tad smaller than expected but that turned out to be a good thing). You want this shirt to be on the tight side so itโs effective. Overall, I would say this product works and deserves a 5 star review. I will be buying a few more so I can wear them daily to work. I have worn it 3 times and washed it twice. At first, youโll notice the membrane has a bit of a crinkle noise to it when moving but this went away after it starts getting wet from sweat. It launders pretty well but I did notice that perhaps the cotton shirt shrinks at a different rate than the membrane material so it seems bulkier after the initial wash.

For SEVERE hyperhidrosis... FINALLY a solution!
I have suffered severe hyperhidrosis since I was a teenager. It was something I suffered in silence... for a young woman, it was quite embarrassing: I couldn't wear cute colors, cute clothes, and had to always be secretly daubing at my dripping underarms with napkins or tissue. Fellow-sufferers know just what I'm talking about. Severe hyperhidrosis can be -- no, correction; IS -- a socially-debilitating condition. It is truly awful. Now in menopause and my early 50's, my sweating thankfully has reduced significantly. BUT the great news is that you -- the younger heavy-sweating folks of today -- have a non-surgical and drug-free solution in this fantastic new shirt. Wow, how I wish this product was available 20-30 years ago. I can't even imagine how awesome this would have been to have had in my ealier (heavy-sweating) days. ONE OF MY THREE SONS had the unfortunate luck of inheriting my hyperhidrosis gene. He has hyperhidrosis bad. He sweats bullets, buckets; it's okay for guys to sweat though, right?!? ... I thought "oh it's good you're not a girl," but trust me it's still bad for him. He's told me this often. And it DOES bother him. He's in college now, and he recently sent me a photo of his sweat marks and said, "Mom, this is just ridiculous... there has to be something I can do for this." I went online to continue my search for solutions, as I have done for the past several years for both my sake and his. We have looked into alternate solutions like drugs, and extreme solutions like botox and surgery. None of which we are willing to do for various reason which I won't go into here (although certainly money is one of them.) Then... something promising! I stumbled upon the Thompson Tee while doing more Googling (sweat-proof shirts, no sweat clothing, etc.) After reading the description, checking the reviews on Amazon, and then further exploring the Thompson Tee website, I was convinced this was at least a very good step in the right direction! But I was reticent to get too excited just yet because the "footprint" of the underarm barrier didn't look nearly as big as the sweat stain in the photo my son had sent me. I thought, "surely he would sweat right through this thing, right?" So I contacted the people at Thompson Tee via email, explaining my doubt that this would work for my son's particular case. This was their quick reply: "Have you tried our shirts yet? Our Hydro-Shield has an absorbent layer that will absorb more than a regular shirt will, so it's protective ability is greater than what the sweat mark on regular shirts show. All our shirts come with an unconditional guarantee even if they've been worn/washed so feel free to try it out." Now I was really encouraged. I was so hopeful that I ordered one for my son right away. But I still didn't want to believe this could really be a solution until we actually tested it out. Or rather, my SON tested it out. So fast-forward to Christmas break, the order arrives, my son is home from college and available to test out the new "sweat-proof" shirt. He first wore it to a friend's house one night, and said it worked fine. But it was a low-key evening; not a really good test of the tee shirt. The real test was going to be a few nights later when he went to a night club where there would be LOTS of old and new friends to meet, lots of dancing and socializing, and most likely an overly-warm temperature in the place. From my memory of my own hyperhidrosis, this would *definitely* be one of the best tests for the tee. The results came in the day after the big evening: I asked him how the shirt worked and if it helped. He grinned in amazement and said, "Wow, Just Wow! I really thought it would be soaking wet and uncomfortable, because I know I sweated A LOT. I thought the sweat had to be showing somewhere ... but somehow it seemed to absorb it all. I totally had Z.E.R.O. wet stains on my shirt. It helped a TON!" So if you've read my review this far, my advice is this: Go give this shirt a real test drive as soon as you can. The company has fantastic customer support, and you can return it after 30 days even if you've worn and washed it (and sweat in it, haha) with no strings attached! I'll bet if you really do have severe hyperhidrosis you will be singing praises for this product, too! Thanks Thompson Tee inventor.

Works great
This undershirt works really well! The cotton fabric is soft and comfortable, and the built-in sweat pads make a big difference in keeping shirts dry. It fits nicely without feeling tight and is easy to wear under work clothes or everyday outfits. A great option if you deal with sweating and want extra confidence throughout the day.

It keeps the sweat off your shirts and out of sight - it works.
I read most of the reviews before spending nearly $30 on this shirt and while the majority of them were positive, some of the negatives ones were troubling. However, after only one day of wearing this shirt I am very satisfied with it's performance and will be purchasing several more in the future. I have always, since puberty, sweated heavily under my arms - soaking through max strength deodorant, an undershirt, a shirt, and sometimes even a light coat of sweater. I bought this Thompson Tee in the hopes of being able to stem the tide and reclaim my nicely colored shirt and confidence without worrying about the giant dark sweat rings! Pros: 1. It works. It prevents the sweat from reaching your outer clothing. I wore it an entire work day beneath a dress shirt and a coat.. and still have a dry work shirt! No rings, no stains. 2. It's comfortable, it fit as expected (I got a large and wear a 34/35 dress shirt). It's soft, form fitting, and stayed tucked in. Cons: I do not consider these as a fault of the product, but they are worth mentioning. 1. You will still sweat.. and yes, as others have mentioned, the pads will hold sweat against skin. You can feel it. It's not uncomfortable, as it is something I've dealt with for the past 20 years, but it may be off putting to some people. And yes, it does create a "billowing" effect to draw air into your underarms, but if you sweat excessively (like I assume you do) it will not entirely dry up. 2. The under padding in the arms does take some getting used to... it's just thicker beneath your pits, but again not uncomfortable. There is sort of a diaper effect, but I expected that. The bottom line is that this thing kept my dress shirt dry - it gave the appearance that I do not sweat. Nice, clean, dry under arms after a 10 hour day of wearing a long sleeve shirt and coat. I took off the coat to eat lunch and behold, no rings! It was an enjoyable difference to be able to wave at people or give an open armed hug. If you just want to keep sweat off your shirts and out of public scrutiny, this shirt will do it. I plan to update this review after I see how well it holds up to constant sweating and washing. UPDATE: This past weekend I wore my Thompson Tee to take family photos in lightly colored dress shirts, which is always a nightmare for me. I am so happy to report that after being caught outside in the afternoon sun for over an hour, my baby blue dress shirt was dry as a bone! It is the first time in decades that I comfortably and confidently had photos taken without worrying about keeping my underarms hidden. That seals the deal, Thompson Tee's are my undershirts from now on.

Absolute Perfection in an Undershirt
For years I've struggled with a lot of underarm sweat. It's been a real challenge at business meetings and having wet shirts in front of my bosses and even customers. It doesn't look professional at all and it was a huge blow to confidence. Especially considering once I noticed it my anxiety levels would climb and it'd get even worse. Length of the shirt: A couple inches below the waistline in my case. Enough to tuck in without having to worry about the shirt pulling up out of your pants. Undershirts pulling up can also be from using too large of shirt as well, but not in this case. Fit: I figured I'd try out a pair of these shirts since I've always just bought basic Hanes or Fruit of the Loom at local stores. Due to hitting the gym I've always had to buy XL shirts and hope they shrink down enough to fit across the shoulders and chest. My chest is right at 44" but I wanted to try a shirt that would fit a little tighter and not be so billowy. Bought two Large shirts and the first fit absolutely perfectly. The second one, also a L, fit good at the chest and across the shoulders but the stomach area was slightly smaller than the first shirt. It bothered me at first but I started looking at it like this, if I still look professional and no one can see the shirt anyways, I'll work through it. The shirt tends to stretch over the course of the day slightly as well. I typically where the undershirts under polos since my workplace is business casual and I can finally start wearing light colors again since my polos stay perfectly dry even though the armpit of the Thompson Tee is damp. Hydro-Shield: And on that note I'd also like to point out that these will dry out quickly, but depending on the wearer, may not dry out until taken off. My undershirt will stay damp or dry slightly in the armpit throughout the day but won't affect the outer shirt. Again, I'm ok with that, others may not be. The Hydro-Shield portion of the shirt is also an odd feeling the first time you put it on. It's got a crinkly feeling, not super soft like cotton, but it hasn't irritated me at all. It's just different is all. Overall: An excellent product, a little expensive, but I will for sure be getting a few more pairs, especially in different colors, maybe even try an XL to see how it fits.

Sweat blocking t-shirt
The Pros: Very soft cotton Well made Works at blocking sweat very well The Cons: Very lightweight, almost see through The price Can't be bleached, and it's a white t-shirt While it blocked almost all sweat, it did not block it all The shirt was a longer than my other large t-shirts, but did shrink about 15%, so it fits better. It managed to block almost all the sweat, but it did leak out of the sides. I tend to be a heavy sweater, so maybe it's a me thing. For the price ($30 with shipping and tax) I expected a whole lot more. It is almost a sheer t-shirt, and is almost see through. For the price it should be heavy weight. It was also uncomfortable to wear wet, as it was a bit soupy under my arms. Also, the instructions say not to bleach, which is always a problem for white t-shirts and underarm stains. That being said, I will buy more as they are the best thing that I have discovered.

Game changing!
I bought already 5 of these T-shirts. They get delivered fast and the product is very efficient in retaining sweat and avoiding embarrassing wet marks under the armpit. I personally prefer the crew neck and original fit as the slim fit is made of different material and I found it a little more warm. It take a while to dry after washing due to the pads under the arm but with couple of them in the stock I sort out the issue quickly. Overall I am very satisfied with this product and I also recommend it to friends and family. I will definitely buy it again if needed

Amazing. Works better than expected
Wow. Was skeptical at first considering how many dress shirts I've ruined with sweat or how many times I'd have to change halfway through the day. How could a t-shirt fix all of that? Well, this shirt did. I can wear colors again! Who knew! This shirt works better than expected. Much better. I'm a student and wore this shirt under a light grey dress shirt the other day when I had an exam and interview within 20 minutes of each other, so you can imagine how stressed (and therefore sweaty) I was. To my surprise, not a single droplet of sweat showing under my arms. Safe to say I love this new shirt. Not only am I saving dress shirts and am able to wear new colors I'd never dare wear before, my confidence has been boosted considerably since I'm no longer worried about the embarrassing underarm sweat marks. It does fit a tad big. I'm normally an XL, however, a large in this shirt fits me perfectly. Not too tight that its restrictive or uncomfortable, but not too big and baggy that it's not a good undershirt or that the sleeves bunch or ride up. I'd recommend getting one size smaller than you'd get in a normal t-shirt (you want it to be relatively snug). There are some things to be aware of though. The armpits are padded to absorb sweat, so at first, it may feel like you've got a small towel stuffed under your armpits. I got used to that after wearing it only one time - it's no longer noticeable and feels just like a normal shirt. Since it absorbs the sweat in the armpit pad, I expected that it would also start to smell by the end of the day. Nope! While the pads do absorb sweat (and get wet) there are absolutely no bad orders that get trapped in the material. I would recommend getting more than one or washing after each use, however, since by the end of the day the armpits are very wet on the inside of the shirt and take a while to dry. The last thing you wanna do is put on the shirt again the next day and have wet armpits. Yes, its expensive for a t-shirt, and hopefully in the future, the company is able to reduce their costs as they grow and are able to offer these shirts at a more affordable price, however, I still think it's 100% worth it. I'm going to be buying 2 or 3 more in the next couple days since I love it so much and it works so well. BUY THIS SHIRT! That's all I've gotta say.
