This fit well on my Hero 10! I'd love a little more magnification but for the price you can't beat it! It's made for close up stuff so there's a vignette if you try to focus too far but it's cool for macro stuff! It didn't negatively affect color!

Worked great on my GoPro Hero 9 Black. With the right settings you can get real professional quality cinematic style close up details with this macro filter. Every tiny detail whether you are filming fruit, plant life, water, or even skin shows up super clear. I filmed my own face and saw details on my skin I didn't even know I had or could see with my own eyes lol. Highly recommend if you plan on filming things up close and want to blur out the background and enhance what you're focusing on especially in 4-5K. The people who said it didn't fit, no clue what they are even talking about. Fit fine for me right off the bat. Keep in mind I used a Hero 9 Black. Not sure if it's even meant for any other models or if that's why it didn't fit for the other guy. Well worth the price if you are really into filming for GoPro!

This little lens is easy to mount on the Hero 9 and does the trick. I would have preferred a slightly closer focus, but it's good enough for most macro video needs, especially with the Hero 9 set to narrow field of view. It's also pretty fun to shoot stills in wide field of view! You get some really striking macro wide angle images like the ones I show above.

Not sure what I was expecting, but I can say I was expecting more. Here are three pictures taken from the same distance, in the same light. The first two are on the GoPro hero 10 black and the last one on my old iPhone 11 XS without any flash. It is easy to tell that the lens did help some, but it’s still a poor comparison to the old iPhone. I suggested if you’re going to do a close-up pull out your smart phone.

Definitely increases the detail of small objects up close. But it wouldn't make a good video for anything more than a few feet away.

I bought this lens to use during scuba diving thinking that since my GoPro will be inside a waterproof housing this lens will work but it didn't. There are two issues: 1. This lens does NOT have rubber seals like the original GoPro lens does so you can't put the camera under water for any depth. 2. The lens protrudes out enough that when I put the camera inside the water proof housing it wouldn't seal so on a dive to any depth the housing leaks. It does seem to take decent macro photos when not in the water.

I didn’t expect much out of this at first. I bought it as a starting point and would move on to something better in the future. But I am surprised with this and will definitely stick with it. The build quality is great. I would say it has a very similar build as the standard GoPro lens. The feel of it is good and doesn’t feel flimsy. It also fits on my hero 9 just like the standard lens. It feels very snug on the camera and is as easy to put on/take off as the regular lens and allows me to get closer to subjects than the normal lens and get clearer pictures/video. Remember this is a macro lens, not a zoom lens. Think of it as a magnifying glass. Experienced photographers will probably know this but I’m just giving a little heads up to those who may not know the difference.

I use this lens to take close ups of items for work to write processes. Clear photos at 8-10" that can be cropped to focus on detail. It is made from metal and twists on easily. Comes with a case so you can store the stock lens safely.

With their tiny aperture lenses, GoPro have a broad range of clear focus, down to about 13" on the near side. However with their wide angle focal length, that may not be close enough to see fine detail. Like most lenses, zooming doesn't help because the minimum focus while zoomed is worse. With this little, inexpensive lens, I can focus down to about 3-6", although with the wide perspective it's still not great. Overall it's not as good as my Iphone 11, which can focus down much closer. I'll still keep this lens and play with it but for recording close video I'll probably switch to the phone.

I wanted to film legos and tiny figurines using this lens on the GoPro Hero 11 Black. And it works well! The video is super crisp and clear. One thing to keep in mind is that it doesn't greatly enhance super small details like DSLR cameras do with a dedicated macro lens. BUT if you are using a gopro, and don't want to spend on a DSLR and a macro lens, this is a great alternative. THERE IS A VISIBLE DIFFERENCE. However, I think at the time that I bought this, it was a bit pricey for what it is and it took quite a while to be delivered.
