Read for a great recipe!
The benefits of raw cacao are astounding; if you haven't heard, do a quick Google search and you will soon be overwhelmed. I have been a happy user of raw cacao powder for years and I've dabbled with cacao nibs. Cacao nibs I've never been much of a fan of. All of them that I have tried have been bitter and hard and nothing truly hides is flaws. When I discovered I could buy whole cacao beans, I assumed (wrongly) that they would be exactly the same as nibs, only giant and more disgusting. I couldn't have been more wrong.I can only assume that with all things, the ground version will be a weak comparison to the whole version and less nutritious. Ground coffee vs. Fresh ground, ground flax vs. whole flax, etc. Buying the whole version will always be fresher, contain the natural oils, be better for you, and taste so much better. So, when I read that some people eat the whole cacao bean as a snack, I decided to give it a try despite having eaten nibs that way several times and almost throwing up each time. The cacao bean is not nearly as bitter and had a pleasant flavor. If it weren't for the fact it didn't really go anywhere and just "grew" in my mouth, I could definitely eat these as is.But, since I probably will not be eating them straight from the bag, I decided to try them in a smoothie. A type of smoothie I've been wanting to make for awhile and the stars aligned and I happened to have all of the ingredients. Mint chip. And I'm in love! It tastes just like my favorite ice cream and the whole cacao beans(freshly ground) as the chips are perfect! They are not bitter, do not overwhelm, and best yet when I get them in my teeth and chew them they don't make me gag!1 avocado2c. Water2 scoops vanilla protein powder1 handful cashews1/2 tsp mint extract1/2 tsp. Himalayan salt1c. IceStevia to tasteBlend well. Add some cacao beans and pulse. Drink and feel amazing!I was given the opportunity to buy this at a discount in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

Powerful nutrition that tastes great
Delicious and nutritious organic cacao beans! I recently learned about the wonderful health benefits of cacao beans and couldn't wait to try them. I had picked up a recipe for an avocado smoothie using the cacao beans from an Amazon reviewer here and wanted to try it. I could not believe how amazing it tasted! Aside from the power-packed health boost of the ingredients, my taste buds were delighted. I feel really good about making yummy bullet shakes especially when they are loaded with so many essential nutrients. I've also made coconut avocado and cacao bean ice cream and that is heavenly. The cacao beans can be chopped up and used to replace nuts and chips in a favorite recipe. These are so fresh and tasty I just keep using them in everything. A+A discounted product was provided to evaluate and review honestly in exchange.I depend on the reviews and ratings of others to help me make purchasing decisions and I enjoy sharing my product experiences as well

Antioxidant Rich and Certified Organic - Love These!
I received these Organic Cacao Beans 100% USDA Certified, All Natural Ground Beans, 8 ounce Package, Natural Substitute for Chocolate Chips and Sweeteners, Antioxidant Rich, Great Source of Fiber, but mine were whole, not ground, but I am happy with that and would rather grind them myself, as needed. I love that these are 100% USDA Certified and all-natural, filled with natural-occurring antioxidants that fight free radicals to promote overall wellness. In fact, the ingredients list is: Organic Raw Whole Peeled Cocoa Beans.I have tried these by tossing a small handful of these into my protein shake with a banana and some ice. This is delicious and seems to add a little “depth” to the flavor. I have also tried them, as another reviewer mentioned (thank you), ground up in warmed Organic Almond Milk with Vanilla and a dash of Nutmeg. I did have to add just the tiniest dash of organic sugar and I loved it. I will be trying these more different ways. I do not care for them as is, but I am working on my tastes, starting by using less sugar. I will probably be trying them in a trail mix type application next. I’m working on my formulation now.

... own Mexican style chocolate and it turned out really good. I roasted these in the oven
I decided to make my own Mexican style chocolate and it turned out really good. I roasted these in the oven, ground them up with a hand crank grain mill several times, mixed with sugar and cinnamon and then pressed it into molds.

Awful
The package says "peeled." These are not peeled. They're also the worst I've ever tasted. I threw them out.
