Foreign Travel Converter 1600 W Watt AV Voltage Step Down Power Adapater 220 110Received it this morning. It looks very well designed and well packaged. It looks very vintage like a product from the 60s or 70s era which makes it cool, it matches my guitar amp and other cool products I have that are vintage. Don't let that impression fool you into thinking this is an old heavy product. Once you lay hand on it you realize right away that it is a modern product from the way it handles to the way the materials it is made from feel to your hand touch.The main unit is built from light strong aluminum. The white cover is a nice plastic and is removable. It has little latches that allow the cover to go off once you widen the plastic sides a bit. (see pics)I have used similar units from other manufacturers, this one stands out. Others were super heavy for what they are, get hot etc. This unit is light. I specifically chose this unit because I'm preparing a motorcycle trip overseas and I need this for some of my electronics. Weight and volume were critical criteria for my decision. This converter by far the lightest and smallest/most compact unit.The white plastic cover can be removed which uncovers a very cool feature: A fuse! This is much nicer than the units I used before because when they go bad, you have no idea what happened. This one has a fuse that can prevent damage to itself or to the product being connected to it. I could be wrong about this in practice but in theory that's how it is supposed to work. I commend the manufacturer for at least trying and not just making another "same old" thing.I have not tried it in a 240 v to 110 v setting yet because I need to go to my destination where they use 240v first before I can provide a full review of how it works. I trust it is a good product and will do well. I will update this review once I use it.I have done a lot of research, read about and researched a lot of products in this segment. I think this is the best option all things considered. I would recommend.

Wrong converter for the country I visited
I bought these for use in Bora Bora, but it turned out it was the wrong converter for the island. Nothing wrong with the product (to my knowledge) just user error for purchasing the incorrect converter.

Excellent!
I bought this tansformer with doubts if I could use it in a bathroom ventilation fan (of the type that is placed in the ceiling) but where the electrical network is 240V. I tried it for more than an hour with the engine running (from 0.9A) and barely raised the temperature. I was surprised that it has a fuse (glass ampule type) inside that can be changed if it were to burn. That says it is of excellent quality and that the manufacturer also thought about protection. Anyway, I'll put a timer to turn it off after ten minutes of being turned on, just for safety. Very good quality transformer building materials!

run like hell. I purchased 4 of these units
Unless you are an electronic tech, don't walk away from this..... run like hell. I purchased 4 of these units. When they are assembled properly they are usually very nice little voltage converters. Out of the 4 units, 1 actually was a good functioning unit. Of the 3 others, one worked when first plugged in and then slowly went to no output due to a poor quality trimpot that changed value with temperature. Three others would have failled under a higher current load as the power device (Triac) was not mounted on the heatsink.If you like electronics it is a good assortment of parts that you should be able to make work like it is supposed to.

Won't fit into French outlets!
Unable to use this as it would not fit into the recessed outlets in France, so I am unable to rate how well it might have worked.

Small size - Huge Output
I use it for a Ceiling Fan which was bought mistakenly in US ( 220V ==>110V) .... So for 8 hours it can keep easy 65W and for 2-3 hours 110 W ( w/lights ) .
