Best Multipurpose Amplified Portable PA/Music Speaker In Its Class
I've tried a few of these portable AC-powered portable PA/monitor/music speakers with built-in amplifiers and near as I can tell, this is the best one in it's price-range/class. QUALITY: Right out of the box it looks nice. There's something about the fit & finish, and the layout of the controls, the design of the enclosure, even the packaging that communicates good quality. Everything is crisp. The lettering, the definition of the angles of the enclosure, everything is nice and clean and feels high quality. LOOKS: The front of the speaker has a very nice, back-illuminated logo. ENCLOSURE: The speaker has a handle built-into the design of the enclosure on the top to carry the speaker by, but the speaker vents on the sides (or top & bottom if using the speaker horizontally) are also handles. Horizontally is how I will primarily be orienting the speaker, and when set on a flat surface the speaker's face is angled up slightly, the same angle as a floor monitor. Perfect. The control panel, which is on the rear of the speaker, is well laid out. The speaker is fairly heavy. I attribute this to good quality internals, big magnets on the speakers, lots of heavy capacitors, etc., rather than the manufacturer just adding weight-plates to make it feel heavy & substantial. SOUND & POWER: The sound is average, typical for speakers of this type. It includes bass & treble controls, along with the standard volume and pre-amp gain controls, and they work quite well. The manufacturer advertises 100 watts RMS. I think that figure is optimistic. During testing the most I could get it to pull at peak was about 70 watts. That translates to somewhere near 35 watts of output. There is an LED indicator on the control panel on the rear which illuminates if the amplifier detects clipping (distortion caused by overloading the amplifier components). It never lit while I was using it. My power figure estimate is based on this being a class AB amp (why they didn't go with a class D I can only guess) and average Class AB amp efficiency is ~ 50%. The manufacturer claims 102db @ 1watt/1meter. That is a pretty efficient rating (it's a rating of the speaker, not the amplifier). I was able to get the speaker to put abut 110db @ 1w/1m. Maybe it could do more with the right audio source CONCLUSION: This speaker is much better, I figure twice as good, as the similar speaker from it's nearest rival, a firm whose name rhymes with mile. For the money it seems like quite a piece of hardware. When you consider the cost of portable Bluetooth speakers (this speaker supports Bluetooth, SD card, RCA line in, 3.5mm line in, USB, XLR, & 1/4" inputs. It even has an FM radio.), this is a lot of speaker with a lot of capabilities. Considering it has a 10" woofer with separate tweeter and the various functions (albeit without battery power), this is quite a lot of hardware for the money. This speaker comes with a remote control and supports XLR line-level output. Good looks, good quality, good performance, good sound, good feature set, and easy to use, this speaker is a smart choice.

A very enjoyable PA for the price, with solid sound and some nice features.
Really happy with this PA. We're using it for vocals with a band. It's not super loud, and it's not ultra precise if that is something you need, but for rocking out in our basement practices, it is perfect. It sounds so much cleaner than the amp we were using before. The Bluetooth connectivity and independent mixing also allows it to be used for karaoke, which is fun. At the price, it is a no-brainer. It could certainly be used for live performance in smaller venues. I haven't tried it outside to see how it cuts through. I think it would probably depend on the style of music and other factors. But for our purposes, I couldn't be happier.

Good product for the money
Purchased as a sale item And I’m impressed. I needed something for my shop / building. Also as a 80’s dj I would say these economical power speakers would be Good for Outdoor. They carry a high mid and a mid 120 on the low but it is thermal protected so it probably can’t handle tons of Base stress but mines on 10hr a day. Bluetooth signal is very strong, better than my phone signal in some aspects.

Probably the best speaker out there for the price
I bought this for my music classes and concerts. Great item. I returned 2 other brands for being crap. This one has worked perfectly. Great sound, lots of power to fill up an auditorium. Bluetooth very reliable. Needed to contact tech with a question and they responded the next day. I have nothing but good things to say about this speaker. Great choice!

Great PA speaker used for an indoor classroom
I bought this Rockville BPA10 PA speaker specifically to use in a medium-large classroom for the instructor to speak to the students. The class is a sewing class, so I purchased the 10" woofer size to ensure it could be heard over the noise of the machines. I selected this model with the built-in radio and Bluetooth, so it could be used for multiple purposes. Smaller classes can enjoy the radio or streaming music from a phone when not used for the PA and mic. I liked this speaker paired up with a wireless mic because the speaker has a 1/4' line in that can be both Mic or Line. Some other powered speakers did not specifically have the Mic option, which is needed to boost the signal. The sound from the single speaker is pretty good using all the audio formats. The wireless mic (separate, not included) sounds great and is plenty loud for an indoor room. If it were used outdoors, I may go up to a larger speaker size or use a pair of speakers for distribution. The bluetooth audio was great, although music through a single speaker is not as good as stereo with two speakers. The speaker isn't too heavy to move around with ease. I like these types of PA speakers that have options like Bluetooth, as they can be used in so many situations. If you had a party and wanted to play music in rooms that didn't include a speaker, or even for outdoor use at a party, it would be great. We use these types of speakers for a small Theatre company rehearsals, where the music is played from an app on a mobile phone. Overall I am very pleased with this speaker and the instructor using it for the sewing classes is super happy.

Speaker is not as good as advertised
We previously bought the Rockville Power GIG RPG-152K (2) 15" karaoke system. These speakers were very impressive a we loved our system. However after only (1) year the power speaker started smoking and is not unusable. We tried to get just ONE power speaker to replace the old one. You cannot. You must buy the whole system again. So we thought we would try this one. We knew it would not be as powerful as our old one since it was smaller and less watts. But it was not a good speaker. It was so soft you had to turn it up full blast and when you did that it just started making a buzzing sound through the speaker. So no harm, I'll just return it and get the larger one. Ha to ship it back cost me $40 and then they took out a $10 re-stocking fee on top of it. So for a $99.00 speaker I lost $50 returning it. So I didn't want to take the chance again that I wouldn't like the larger speaker so we went to Best Buy where I would be able to return it at the store if I didn't like the sound. So far the one we got from Best Buy is working great and sounds awesome. Sorry, but your return policy on this speaker, sucked.

The BEST speaker for work
I use this in a dirty mining equipment repair shop. Dust and sparks flying everywhere. It fell 6 feet to the ground and split in half. I duct taped it back together and it still sounds good as new after a year of hard abuse. Loud enough to be heard 12 hours a day for years over angle grinders with double hearing protection on. My coworker has one, and we link them together with a cable, they are able to be daisy chained infinitely.

Very pleased with this speaker.
Sound is loud and crisp with the option to adjust the EQ’s for treble and bass on the back. You also have several different connection options, you can use either Bluetooth, RCA, auxiliary, 1/4 inch or XLR cables for line in and it has an output XLR to connect another speaker. Overall I’m happy with my purchase, it’s made in the U.S(New York), and it’s the best price you’ll find for a speaker at this level of quality. Highly recommend if you just can’t afford spending $500+ to upgrade your sound.

AWESOME - more than I expect
All the functionalities at a low price is a steal. The treble and bass adjustment is one effective add-on, a lot of expensive active PA don't have it. Blue tooth, FM radio, RCA works perfect. Will buy one again soon A++

Great sound for that price!
This is a great speaker for the money! Loud enough with a decent bass specially at higher volumes... Bluetooth works great, the remote is weak, you have to be a front of the speaker and no further than 10 feet to work... Maybe it has a weak battery, I will know when I replace. Plenty of "lines in" to connect with almost anything... also a useful line out XLR to connect to a sub if you wish... Great for the backyard and small gatherings, wouldn't disappoint you! The only negative, the "Rockville " logo at the front, was glued on straight! Minor detail but still... Overall, happy with that purchase...

Fantastic Speaker
This is a brilliant speaker. It’s easy to use, sounds great and I’m able to connect a mic and have music playing through Bluetooth at the same time. The price and quality is unbeatable. Highly recommended.
