Perri's leathers 2.5" black BDS-175: I like it
I put the Perri's # in the title because Amazon tends to apply a review on ONE item to ALL within a category. Anyhoo... This is a good leather strap. The shortest I can adjust it is 51" eyelet to eyelet so the description on Amazon is inaccurate. ...but that's fine for me, I wear my G&L L2500 slightly higher than most, and it's still short enough. I'm 5'9". This strap has a seude-ish unfinished/rough (inner) side which will grip some to your shirt. I wear mine slick side (Perri's logo side) in, so it does NOT tug my clothes, that's how I like it, and the "rough" side out looks plenty good for me. I leave straps on guitars, so I'm not going to spend big money on straps. This one's just fine and looks like it will last. I'll probably buy another BDS-175 or other Perri's strap. I wish manufacturers would realize that accurate adjustment ranges are pretty important and stuff like "will this strap grip my shirt or slide" is a more important part of the strap buying process for some of us than what icons/symbols/motifs they may have on them. Thanka... thanka vera mush...

WAY too long!!
WOW this thing is VERY long. This is my second strap from Perri's. Product description for this strap says 41" to 56" and so does the product description for my other strap from them (black one for $14) and they are without a doubt definitely NOT even close to the same length. I am 5'4" using this with my bass guitar and I am on the shortest setting and the third hole and it is STILL just a little bit too long. Its usable, but not really ideal. The other strap I have from Perri's was a perfect length. They need to have an accurate length on the product page and/or clearly advertise this is a long strap. I'm not going to return it because its usable and I really like the leather and feel of it all, but I am really very frustrated because something is just not right here regarding the length and I would have picked a different strap if I knew how long this one really is..Edit: I ended up measuring it and the full length is 60" and the shortest I could get it to was about 51". So the listed length really needs to be fixed because its totally inaccurate, and I also think this should be listed as a long strap because this is totally longer than any of my other straps!

I purchased more than one!
I bought one with sheepskin to check out the quality and I fell in love with these!! Made with real leather it gets more pliable and comfortable with use. The connection holes will get bigger with time and use - my Destroyer is a beast and this has handled it very well. That being said I expect for the time it is fine here in the studio, but if you tend to go thrashing about you would want some locking connections to secure it. It has easy adjustments for length, but this is not a super long strap. If you like your guitar/bass hanging super low, check the actual length you want first. Perri likely makes one for that aesthetic. Best part is the quality of the leather. I am super happy I found this!! Rock on people!!

So comfortable I wish I discovered these long ago.
SUPER comfortable strap that really performs its job extremely well. It’s very comfortable on your shoulder and on your neck, and the wide suede texture really helps hold your instrument in place. In my case it is a very heavy jazz bass that has neck dive, or should I say ‘used to’ have neck dive. Also, the black side is a very deep black. I love the look of it.It is quite long however. I had to set it to the shortest possible configuration. For reference, I stand 6 feet tall and this shortest setting has the center of the back of the base (the area that would be right in between the two pickups) right over my belt buckle. My only complaint is one that has been mentioned here before: it sheds at first.I cannot tell if this is genuine suede or a man-made material but when I first got it, and when you re-thread the sizing strap, it sheds little bits of the suede and this will get onto whatever you are wearing. But I still think it is an excellent strap and I will definitely be buying more of them. Just make sure you have a really sticky lint roller on hand to peel off all the little bits that might otherwise end up on your shirt.Unlike what other people have mentioned here, mine has no smell to it whatsoever. No problem there. If you want a COMFORTABLE strap that looks great and really holds your instrument in place and prevents neck dive, then this one might be the best value out there that I have ever seen.I will probably end up with over half a dozen of these excellent straps by the time I’m done improving my guitar collection.

Very nice but LONG
For me, this is a great guitar strap. I like it so much I bought a second for my Martin (first is on a PRS Vela). It's very soft and great for a lighter weight guitar like a PRS but if I was using a heavier guitar I'd look for something padded.Downside is that the black tends to rub off on clothing and it's really long. Not a huge problem on the color but the length will be an issue for many. I'm 6'1" 185lbs and I have it set to it's shortest and using the shortest hole and my PRS sits about 1/2" below where I'd really prefer. If you use on an acoustic or are on the thicker side it's not going to be as big of a problem.

Nice strap for price.
I liked the way the strap mounts to the banjo, it has heavy duty plastic clips that makes it easier to put in my case. The only thing I didn’t care for, it would have been nice to have the padding offset, so the pad could be more on the shoulder, or a shorter strap on one side. Up date 12-5-20:I ran into a problem with the strap, I still like the design of it except for how the buckle is attached. As you can see by the picture the (I think it’s leather) leather tore and the buckle let loose, I was blessed I was holding on to my banjo at that time. Maybe if it was a nylon strap it may not have broke. As you may know banjos are pretty heavy. I will try to get a hold of the company and see if there is anything they can do.

WRONG LENGTH FOR A 5-STRING BANJO
Whomever made this had a rock guitarist in mind who plays his instrument waist-high with his arm hanging straight down. 5-string banjoists hold their instrument up under their playing arm and play with a bent elbow, which is impossible with this extra-long strap. Back to the drawing board fellas!

You Get a Lot More Than The Price, Would Suggest.
I've bought three of Perri's straps for my electric basses. When I bought the first one, I really wasn't expecting much for the price. However I was very pleasantly surprised, when I received it. The leather is pretty thick and of good quality. I use those little rubber washers to keep the strap in place, just to be on the safe side. I've had the first strap for around a year now and it shows very little signs of wear. I've now bought another two. I like to play my bass slung quite low and there is plenty of adjustment in the straps I have bought. The length of the strap is very easy to adjust. I think they sell a longer strap as well, but for my needs, the length of the standard strap is fine.

High quality strap perfect for guitars prone to neck dive
Nice wide high quality leather strap with a group underside to stop nose dive. A must for Firebird, Flying V, SG, Explorer, Dean Z guitars. I like the 2 quick change strap length settings too.

Great value leather strap.
A good value leather guitar strap, suitable for all but the largest of guitarists.Strap button holes are fine for electric guitar but will need enlarging for the larger buttons fitted to some electro-acoustic guitars. I had to enlarge the end strap hole for my Faith Neptune.Good strap with good shoulder grip. Recommended.
