I purchased this for a snack container for my front porch. I have many delivery personnel and contractors who come to the house and I don’t want them having any medical problems when they’re here. I previously had a plastic box with lid that the thug squirrels in the neighborhood chewed through while they were stealing snacks. I wanted a secure stainless steel box that would stop the squirrels in their tracks, bonus points if it had a tight latch. I had been looking for a few weeks when I came across this ammo box. I liked that the measurements would fit the snacks, that it was lockable if I needed that and that the latch was beyond a squirrel’s mental faculties for figuring it out. I watched the video of the guy demoing it in a pool and loved that this box is also waterproof. I was pleasantly surprised that the price wasn’t higher. If at some point I stop doing snacks, this box has endless possibilities besides using for ammunition. I read that the welds were tight as well and this should help to keep the furry, freeloading bandits out of this box. Good luck chewing through it.

Holds 1000 rounds of Federal Premium HST 147-grain in 20 boxes of 50. Excellent seal. Looks brand new (some ammo cans don't), good seal, and looks like it could take a beating. I've tried a few ammo cans. This is the best. I'll be buying more. I'm retired Navy, Weapons.

I’m really happy with my purchase. The ammo box is designed in a discrete (color) but strong look. It is very secure with its locking hatch . It is not heavy at all but can hold an ample amount of ammo. I highly recommend this ammo box to everyone.

This looks to be a genuine NATO ammo box. I grew up with these. Growing up there was nothing commercially made or available to store stuff in for float trips, camping, and hunting and the WW2/Korean/Vietnam surplus was all we had to keep anything dry and safe. They always did their job without fail. I regularly notice that now when I see a genuine surplus ammo box it’s still 40-90 years old and they want $30 or more for them. These are brand new, with brand new gaskets that should last 40-60 years, for the same price as surplus. So for my money I’ll get these every time. Why spend the same $ for old seals and reduced functionality unless your goal is nostalgia?! The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is there was no packaging except the cardboard box and one corner was mangled. That won’t prevent the box from doing its job flawlessly. The shipping company receives the blame for that. Maybe a slightly bigger cardboard box and a piece of bubble wrap could solve the issue. Other than that Solid Tactical is the way to go. 5 stars!!
