Is this made from Palm oil ( that is destroying the orangutans? )

Coconut Palm Sugar is made from the nectar of the flowers on coconut palm trees. Palm oil is from a different tree the oil palm trees, primarily the African oil palm.

so when baking do you use this for white sugar or brown sugar?

I use this for all my sugar needs. I love that I can use half of the called for amount and it's still as sweet and that it doesn't spike my blood sugar level. I use it in all my recipes, whether it calls for white or brown sugar. I even whirled it in my spice mill and made some powdered sugar out of it. It works well and doesn't "taste like coconut" to me.

is this a good substitue for brown sugar?

Yes it is. I love this Product.

Has anyone used this for making sweet iced tea?

I tried it in hot tea not iced, did not care for it at all. It's fine in everything else but after that I won't try it in any tea again.
