The 9kg blanket is heavier than you’d anticipate, especially is 9kg is over 10% of your body weight (the ballpark figure of what you should go for in a weighted blanket). The blanket is ready to use out of packaging, but I put a cotton duvet cover on it for comfort. I was worried about being hot under it but that is certainly not the case for me. It’s heavy but breathable. I sleep with the blanket on top of my thin duvet, and the only reason why I’m warmer than normal, is because the weighted blanket tucks the duvet around you with its weight. Particularly helpful if you move a lot and untuck your duvet a lot, getting cold air in. None of that has happened since I got it!
