Silentnight Weighted Blanket, Wellbeing Collection, Supersoft Grey, 9kg

Great value for money (especially if you can snatch it up during a sale like I did!) The 9kg blanket is heavier than you’d anticipate, especially is 9kg is over 10% of your body weight (the ballpark figure of what you should go for in a weighted blanket). The blanket is ready to use out of packaging, but I put a cotton duvet cover on it for comfort. I was worried about being hot under it but that is certainly not the case for me. It’s heavy but breathable. I sleep with the blanket on top of my thin duvet, and the only reason why I’m warmer than normal, is because the weighted blanket tucks the duvet around you with its weight. Particularly helpful if you move a lot and untuck your duvet a lot, getting cold air in. None of that has happened since I got it! It looks great and the stitching quality is nice, super soft even without an extra cover.

Comfortable and feels well-made. Finish to the fabric is neither hot nor cold feeling and weight distribution feels even. I have mine on top of the duvet as an extra layer and it doesn't feel too much, nor does it slip at all. Definitely feel like I'm sleeping better since I started using this. Note re the weight: I think the weight quoted must be per square metre, because I bought the 6.8kg one and when it's all folded up it feels more like ~20kg in total weight.

I had read about weighted blankets over a year ago and understood the theory: deep pressure inducing an oxytocin release. But I prevaricated in buying one. After all, it is expensive for a blanket, and what if it didn't work? But after getting a very generous gift voucher for my birthday I decided to take the plunge. I went for the 9kg because I'm not a small woman. And oh my merciful heavens, it is the best investment I've ever made. The blanket is soft and sits exactly on top of the bed, so it doesn't slide off in the middle of the night. A few nights it's been too warm under the blanket and duvet, but I've just slept on top of the duvet and under the blanket so it's no great inconvenience. I have never slept so well in my adult life! The pressure is so comforting, I'm falling asleep quickly instead of lying awake into the small hours. It feels like when you stayed at your nan's when you were a kid and slept tucked up under the heavy blankets; that feeling of being safe, warm and loved. If you are thinking of getting one I'd say go for it! I love my blanket so much I want to take it on holiday with me (will leave us 6kg including suitcase for clothes for the two of us; that's enough, right?!).

As far as weighted blankets go, this is very good. The glass beads are evenly distributed and it does the job. However, I found that even though I wasn't moving it around much (it's too heavy to move easily!!) it coated my bedroom surfaces with grey dust. It also doesn't come with a washable cover so how you keep it clean is a mystery to me. In the end it was that, along with feeling oppressed with it over me, that made me return it. I'm a small person (5f 2" and 8 stone) and it felt too heavy.

One of my favourite blankets! It's not fluffy, it's not super-warm, it's not fancy, but I can easily relax and sleep underneath it, specially after stressful day! I've shared it with my friends and they wanted to get it as well! 9kg might be too heavy for some, but as a 95kg guy, it's perfect for me! It's survived 4.5 years with me so far and the quality is still high - the stitching is going strong and no glass beads that are inside were lost! If you want to get someone a great gift - this is it! High recommendation!

This was a present, specifically for a women in peri-menopause. It has gone down really well, improving sleep length and quality, whilst reducing anxiety. It is very heavy and good quality.

Fabulous. Well made and a fantastic weight. A godsend in helping you to self regulate or in moments of stress. I had no idea what weight to buy but followed the rule of thumb that is should be around 10% of your body weight. Though slightly more than that I’d say it’s perfect.

So pleased with this product. I bought three of these for my children. They absolutely love them and have slept so well under them. I will be buying one for myself. I was worried about washing as they are pretty heavy but we had to test one of the blankets out in the washing machine after a spillage and the washing machine coped brilliantly (obviously check your washing machine weight limit before attempting). The blanket was as good as new afterwards. I am not a weighted blanket expert by any means but did some research before purchasing and this one was so competitively priced that it was worth a punt. I had heard incredible things about weighted blanket are was a little sceptical but these are great and very relaxing to lie under. If I were nit-picking, the fabric could perhaps be a little more luxurious - it has a fairly matt feel to it but this is a small quibble and if it were more 'silky' it may be prone to slipping off the bed which is not an issue here. I couldn't be any happier with the product.

So for starters i am a person who gets cold so easily throughout the night and then struggle to go back to sleep - this blanket solved multiple problems: 1. You know when you turn or adjust your sleeping position and then the cold air seeps in? You can forget about that because this weighted blanket will not do that to you. 2. I have anxiety and i am also an overthinker, so before sleep even if i set the mood i tend to find myself staying up for 1 extra hour - this blanket felt like a lovely hug that kept me feeling safe and sound, the weight is spread nicely so it felt consistent and very comfortable. 3. The beads did not make any sound they will not bother you! Btw i got the 6.8kgs and i am thankful i did~!

From the 1st night I've used this the effect is instant. Easier to fall asleep and stay alseep. I used to wake up in the night at least 3-4 time which has reduced and due to the weight on the body it makes me fall asleep easily. Use with a duvet cover if needed but the material of the blanket is very soft and you don't need the duvet cover at all in my opinion.

Deep sleep, recommend only at bed time. I used it to just chill on the sofa. Woke up 3 hrs later. Very happy customer!
