## Description

MAG 1 Full Synthetic Motor Oils with FMX are state of the art, advanced technology, synthetic motor oils which provide the highest level of engine protection available, even under the most severe operating conditions. Review: I've been using the quart bottles for years, and the 5 quart bottle is even better - Great stuff. I've been using this in the quart bottles, in both 0W20 and 5W20, for a few years now. My RAV4 takes a little over 4 quarts, so this works out better - is a little cheaper, I have less bottles left over (not a problem if your car has good oil control), and there's less stuff to recycle as well. It's also easy to mark a line on the side of the bottle for how much you want to put in, so you don't overfill the crankcase.

Manual calls for 0w20, so I am sticking to 0w20 though my startup temperatures never get below 20C (99% of the time). So in actual fact I could use 5W20 and it would behave almost the same between 20C to 100C. MAG1 claims to meet the API specifications and I have never seen any bad tests on the PQIA testing site for their brands. In actual fact, the MAG1 is made by Warren Distribution and their 0w20 ProLine label used for another company branding passed the PQIA test.

**Q: How does it come in the mail?  Does it ever leak when delivered?**
A: Never leaked on me

**Q: Is there any different between warren's "mag1" branded oils and the oil they sell under the amazon basics brand? even the bottle look identical.**
A: I've been using the Amazon Mag 1 in a 2012 Civic since new with no problems. 166000 miles on it now.

**Q: Is it okay to mix this with mag1 61794 full synthetic 0w-20 (non-dexos)? i ask because i accidentally just mixed them in a new 4runner.**
A: I don't know what 61794 is but it's the same weight so I don't think it's a problem. Remember that almost all "synthetic" or 'Full synthetic" oils are really not the synthetic oils that were made before 1997. Before 1997, all synthetic oils had a Polyol-ester base (real synthetic". Then Castrol came out with SynTec which is just a hydro-cracked Dino-oil with no synthetic base. So now we have two kinds of syn oil - SAE Group 3 which is 99% of Syn oil and sells for $5-6 a quart and "real" syn oil which is Group 4 and has a syn base. If you want the $10 a quart real syn oil, you need to find AMSOIL, Redline or Royal Purple which are the only Group 4 syns around. Personally, I use Mag 1 even though it's a Group 3 and change it every 5k in my 3 Priuses.Now you know more than an oil company rep knows and things that almost all the oil companies will not talk about. Don't bother calling them. Only the tech boys at Amalie have admitted all there oil is Group 3. The tech reps at the other oil companies either don't know or won't tell you.

**Q: Is Mag1 0w-20 compatible to Prius C? Or Could I use this Motor oil on 2012 Prius C?????**
A: I use it on a 2012 toyota camry v6 that calls for 0w-20.  I wouldnt use it on any vehicle that doesnt call for 0w-20 oil but if it does it should be fine.  Check your owners manual. This oil is just fine for me.

Update 04/15/2018: It has been 6 months since the last oil change. I have to report that my cx-5 runs a little rough on this oil. The average mpg is down, and the engine sounds louder. I don't doubt that the oil does an adequate job of protecting the engine. However, by switching to another brand of 0w-20, which is priced similarly, my car sounds a lot quieter. Original review: Used this in a new-to-me Mazda CX-5 with 38K miles. It might be me reading (listening) into it too much, but I think the engine sounds better after the oil change. Under hard acceleration on an on-ramp, the engine no longer makes a faint squealing sound that it did before. Even if this is purely my imagination, it should be at least as good as other synthetic oils. The price is competitive - I got it when it was $20.
