These pastels are really wonderful. Great depth of color, and colors blend very thoroughly, unlike some other brands I’ve tried. Pastels sticks are very short compared to others, but between the range of colors and the quality of the pastels, you really can’t beat it for the price.

I wanted a little cheap set to play around with in my coloring books I've wanted the pan pastels for so long now but the cost is outrageous so I got this little faber castell set. Pretty good for a cheap little set I was happy with the product I dont have much to compare it to but they blended smoothly and the color range is nice also it will last me a good while as I mostly use it for backgrounds. I would buy again its a great budget set

New to pastels, I purchased these Faber-Castell soft pastels for a class. I read *lots* of reviews, of the varying craft, student, professional grade of pastels, with a staggering price variances. Being more of a painter, the big challenge was number of color choices versus the expense (e.g., sets of 12, 24, 36, 48, 72 and full, half, or mini sticks). One of the reviewers of this set is a self-proclaimed pastel artist. He said he specifically liked this set when traveling because of the compact size and number of color options. These are square mini sticks which I wanted (vs round) and the mini size is perfectly fine to me in exchange for 72 color options. I have not yet used them and I would not have anything else to compare them to since I have not used pastels since high school or prior. As a new pastel student, I am thrilled with this choice. The outside looked like it may have been opened and relaxed, though I cannot say if this is just the way they are packaged. I held my breath and was quite happy with what I saw upon opening.

I bought this for my granddaughter for Christmas. I was extremely happy with the substantial size and volume. The assortment of colors was bright and vivid, and very good quality. I was very pleased with this purchase, and my granddaughter loved her gift.

This is a very nice starter set of affordable, pro-quality pastels. They are listed as soft pastels but are more on the semi-soft side. Softer than Nu-Pastels but more firm than Mount Vision or Unison. The are great for blocking in colors, they blend smoothly and you can quite effectively use the edges of broken pieces for fine lines/details. I am very pleased with the quality and handling of these pastels and the range of colors provided in this set make will make a worthy contribution to your pastel collection.

Vibrant variety of colors, they apply smoothly, eraseable, very sturdy and don’t seem they would break easily, small size for easy application, packed well in a sturdy box, drawing lines is easy with the edge of the pastel, blend well with other colors, great purchase.

J'essaye de me mettre à la pastel et me suis laissée tenter par ce coffret en solde (18,57€) et je ne regrette pas ! Beaucoup de couleurs proposées qui sont très belles et vives. Les pastels sont petites mais pas gênant pour moi. Elles ont l'air également solides car j'ai fais tomber le coffret de 30cm (je suis malheureusement très maladroite) et elles ont toutes tenues le choc même celle qui ont voltigées dans les airs. Hate de travailler plus amplement avec ces pastels !

At a good price and a good variety of colors. Reasonable price and great for new pastel artists. Highly recommended

Het is een goed produkt om grotere vlakken op te vullen zodat je je dure pastelpotloden een beetje kan sparen

Sehr hochwertige Pastellkreide die ich schon zum 2. Mal nachgekauft habe. Die Farbauswahl ist super. Nur ist es schade, dass man die Farben nicht einzeln nachkaufen kann, wenn man bestimmte Farben öfters hernimmt als andere. Am Besten sind die Kreiden auf Pastelmat, da haften sie richtig schön, aber auch auf einer Leinwand oder auf Acrylfarbe kommen sie gut zur Geltung. Ich nutze sie hauptsächlich zum Verblenden vom Hintergrund und den unteren Schichten beim Fell. Für die Feinheiten sind allerdings die Pastellstifte von Farber Castell mehr zu empfehlen. Bin ein absoluter Farber Castell Fan und kann jedem die Soft Pastels (in Kombi mit Pastelmat) nur ans Herz legen - auch wenn sie teurer sind als andere, sie sind ihr Geld wert.
