BulkSupplements.com Rhodiola Rosea Extract Powder - 100g (Pack of 1)

Does not taste good. Very strong flavor. incredibly effective controlling stress Raises my energy level (cannot take in the evening) First, this supplement drove me to buy a capsule machine. It's incredibly effective and was triggering nausea. It got so I couldn't eat and had to stop all supplements to recover. Once encapsulated, I wondered why I'd ever had a problem. Until I burped. Never mind. I use 1800 mg of this at a time. That is the therapeutic dose recommended by Daniel G. Amen in the first edition of his book, "Healing ADD". I've also tried ginseng, ashwagandha, Relora and holy basil. I've found that as long as you stick to therapeutic doses, they all work. I purchased all of these adaptogens because I have ADHD so severe I have frequent, brief episodes of amnesia. I might be at a meeting and remember everything except 5 minutes. Those 5 minutes will cease to exist for me. I've been told by my doctor that I'm perfectly cogent during these episodes but the memory is lost. Being the little scientist that I am, I dug into brain biochemistry and discovered phosphatidylserine and phosphatidylcholine both precursors for critical neurotransmitters linked to memory/recall and alertness/focus respectively. Supplementation with these two was partially successful. I increased my memory/recall much more than my concentration/focus could handle. My own recall would overwhelm my focus and I'd get confused as the information crowded in too fast. I'd also forgotten *working memory*. I don't know of any neurotransmitters involved but I knew stress could reduce working memory. I'd had mine measured and it was crap - at least 2 standard deviations away from expected based on my IQ. I had ordered the rhodiola, ashwagandha and ginseng, so basically threw all of the at the problem. 1800 mg of the rhodialia 1000 mg of American ginseng 1000 mg of ashwagandha All of it taken in the morning. It would been better to split the doses, but there was no way I could have remembered. Within 3-4 days of this admittedly heavy dose, things started to ease up. The confusion from thinking slowed down. After about 3-4 weeks I noticed I was feeling almost "empty-headed" and constantly had the feeling that I'd forgotten something. Then I noticed my driving had improved. Radically. I've always been a slow, road boulder driver. My friends won't let me drive, because they can't stand to watch me hesitate, almost-panic, take completely unnecessary precautions. One day, I noticed I was driving like a normal person. I could merge into formerly impossible small spaces. I could match speeds quickly and easily. One of my friends exclaimed "You drove at --- mph! You drove like a GERMAN. I am proud of you." German????!!! As in the Autobahn german? I was mystified until I realized the working memory and also processing speed must have increased. It couldn't just be memory and concentration. And the only thing that I KNOW can affect that is reduction in stress levels. I experimented with using adaptogens 3-4 times during the day and discovered they will control stress eating. All of the adaptogens I tried controlled my stress eating. The desire to nibble on things that would start at about 4 PM and continue until I fell asleep was stopped cold if I took any one of them at 2 - 4 PM. But I found 1800 mg of the rhodiola was too stimulating keeping me up to 2 AM. With such a heavy therapeutic dose, it's good for eight hours. BTW, it also increases blood flow to the brain. You might not want to combine with gingko I tried the ashwagandha and also holy basil at 10 - 11 PM along with taurine (a sleep aid) and it was the best night's sleep in a long, long time. Basically, I'm stressing in my sleep - I grind my teeth, tense up my muscles until they cramp, and have nightmares (i'm a screamer). Basically, I think all of these adaptogens will reduce stress. The rhodiola is great for daytime use. It definitely gives you an energy boost besides controlling stress. It's too energizing for evening use. If you want to buy the powder, you DEFINITELY want to encapsulate. (Bulksupplements does sell the Capsule Machine but on their website, not on Amazon).

The taste alone, AWFUL, it takes icky and the powder sticks to the roof of your mouth if you try and put it in yogurt, a smoothie, anything but tea or hot water...and with it added to a hot liquid that is sweetened, not bad. This only seems to dissolve in HOT WATER (like hot tea). So why does this powdered supplement rate a 5 STAR? Because only an 1/8 tsp is needed to get benefits. I am over 60 and the results are awesome for me and I take a small amount a day. Here are the AMAZING powers of Pure Rhodiola Rosea backed by scientific evidence and by me, how it affects my wellness: * Burns Belly Fat and Sends Message to Your Brain that You Do Not Need a Sweet Snack *Helped me lose 5 lbs combined with exercise! * Increased Energy and Less Fatigue * Improves Sleep and Dream in Color *Fights Depression, Anxiety and Improves Brain Concentration and Focus This is why it has a 5 star, rating, because I don't care if it tastes like dirt, because one teensy amount does soooo much. I take a 1/4 teaspoon and half fill the spoon and then dissolve well by a vigorous stir with the teaspoon to make sure all particles dissolve in a 1/4 to 1/1 cup very hot water or tea. Then have a drink that you enjoy nearby, like dark chocolate almond milk. Swig the dissolved herbal fast and then take a drink of the "good tasting drink" and this way you drown out any after taste. The bulk supplement bag has an easy zip lock close, but I keep it inside a second baggie and store it in a cool pantry. What does science say about this Rhodiola? It has an active compound called rosvin that has been proven to trigger a fat burning response in the body. Rosavin works by stimulating an active enzyme, lipase that can break down fat stored in your belly. This herbal supplement is proven to balance out cortisol levels ( which can be high from stress). Rhodiola also helps with depression, by increasing the sensitivity of your neurons to serotonin and dopamine.I have adult ADD and the prescription for Adderal was so expensive that I tried this supplement. This also seems to curb my food cravings at night. Give it a try if you need to increase energy and focus, with burning belly fat as a bonus! Warning, do not take too much at once on an empty stomach and other reviewers have said a larger amount than 1/4 teaspoon causes sleeplessness and weight loss.I tried 1/4 teaspoon and believe that I got the same results with less.

Wow, this stuff works. Was not expecting it to be this effective, since a few things I've tried in the past have made me irritable or trigger anger/jitters, etc. Not the case with this stuff. It gives me very sharp focus, physical and mental energy, alertness, enhanced memory/recall. After reading up on it I interestingly found out that this product doesn’t create dopamine like Adderall, it just helps the dopamine you already have stick around a little longer in the synapse. So it feels much cleaner and isn't addictive, yet it still has traces of the effects of something like Adderall imo. And apparently it's very popular among pro athletes because it's not a banned substance in most sports, and I completely understand why now. HUGE noticeable difference in endurance/focus when running the treadmill at the gym. Makes it much easier to complete a hard workout. I do 200MG when I wake up, then on gym days I do another 200MG several hours later about 45 minutes before heading out. Also, if you're a gamer then this stuff is potentially a cheat code for tougher games like souls-likes imo lol. Same deal with competitive multiplayer games. Taste is non-issue for me. I just stir 200mg into a small bowl of water and stir/chop up with the spoon (since it clumps a bit) until its fully dissolved. Then it just tastes like an earthy glass of water. I use a small bowl because it's easier to scoop up any remainder at the bottom, versus a glass with a divot where it gets lodged/stuck.

Before commenting on the merits of this product, I will briefly discuss my consumption habits as they relate to this product (information that is conspicuously lacking in most of the other reviews of this product). I have been using this product for only a few weeks. On weekdays, I take approximately 400mg of this product in the morning, usually within half of hour of when I wake up, by mixing it in cool water. This is the only dose I take on weekdays. On weekends, I take approximately 200mg of this product in the morning, usually within half an hour of when I wake up, by mixing it in cool water. I also mix an additional 200mg into my water bottle that I take with me to the gym to consume during the course of my workout. These are the only doses I take on weekends. Having briefly discussed my consumption habits as they relate to this product, I will now comment on the merits of this product. This product does seem to have benefits, but most are fairly small in magnitude. First, I have been sleeping a little better over the past few weeks. I also have an easier time getting out of bed. Second, I do feel somewhat more alert, particularly in the mornings shortly after I consume this product. This heightened sense of alertness seems to wear off by early afternoon, but I have not experienced any sort of "crash" from it like I often do with caffeine. Third, my workouts have improved slightly. I do not feel any different when I begin, but I do feel as though I have more energy toward the end. Fourth, I do feel somewhat more calm, and stressful situations seem to bother me a little less than they did a month ago. Fifth, my immune system seems to be stronger, but this may be due in part or in whole to the Thieves oil I have been using for the past few months. I have not experienced any negative side-effects. Overall, I will absolutely continue taking this product, and I would certainly recommend it with the caveat that it doesn't work miracles. If you want something that will turn you into a superhero overnight, you should look elsewhere. But if you want something that will make your day-to-day life seem just a little easier, this is some pretty good stuff.

Combating Exhaustion: It helped soldiers stay alert and energized during grueling sleep-deprivation tests.Extreme Environments: It was used to help personnel endure the physiological stresses of high elevations and harsh frost often encountered in mountainous regions like Afghanistan.Stress and Altitude Sickness: Soviet scientists found it reduced both skeletal muscle damage during exertion and the negative impacts of altitude sickness. For decades, the Soviet research on this "golden root" was considered a top military secret. Because Rhodiola Extract acted as a stimulant without causing a dramatic "crash" or relying on dangerous amphetamines, it was also administered to cosmonauts to improve their mood and focus during cramped space station missions.

The Reddit reviews about this miracle supplement were true. I was very surprised to find out how well this works for my depression. I add about 1/8 teaspoon to my morning coffee and I'm motivated and productive all day. The taste is terrible and I have to deal with a strange after taste all day even after I brush my teeth but it's so worth it. Others recommend putting this powder in a capsule but I still prefer the loose powder because I can try different doses and the effects are more immediate. I've tried every vitamin and amino acid out there including St. John's Wort, Wellbutrin for many years but this really is my new medicine. Best of all, my libido is really amped up and there are no bad side effects for this cheap quick fix. UPDATE: After 4 days of use, I noticed I have lots of energy during the day but I'm abnormally exhausted at night and still have lots of trouble getting out of bed in the morning so I'm adding tryptophan back to my routine to help with oversleeping.

--Be Careful with (or just plain avoid) Rhodiola, ESPECIALLY when combined with any caffeine product! --This applies doubly to those with nervous systems that are somewhat sensitive to caffeine (like me) because, in my experience, starting on day 2 where I again took the recommended dose of Rhodiola and again along with a double-cup of regular tea, within an hour or two after that my stomach was in nervous-knots, and the stimulating energy buzz I was hoping to find wasn't any better than from 3 cups of regular tea consumed within a half hour. --In addition, on a separate day, I tried a regular dose of Rhodiola without any accompanying caffeine and it did nothing; no effect. --A good rule of thumb is: if you're the type who is somewhat sensitive to caffeine (like me) such that you always avoid the too strong spike of caffeinated coffee, and instead limit yourself to a few simple cups of regular tea each morning, you'll STILL want to avoid taking Rhodiola along with tea ...but, if you're tempted to see for yourself, then go slow ...take half or less of the recommended Rhodiola dose...and if you insist on combining it with caffeine, take a half or less Rhodiola dose followed an hour later by 1 cup of regular tea (i.e., 1 bag of regular old basic Lipton tea) and see how you like that ... you can always try an increased dose the next day. I simply stopped using Rhodiola as soon as I had a "too-tight" stomach reaction. --BTW, I like some of Bulk Supplement's other products (i.e., I buy pounds of their Stevia every year--it's a fantastic safe, natural sugar/sweetener substitute).

I had this Item written-down on my list of "best herbs to try" a year ago and this month (August 2018) I finally tried it and use it each day now by adding 1/16 tsp (or 1/8 tsp) to 2 ounces of purified water sweetened with organic Stevia... it's delicious! Otherwise, I will add it to (already-cooked) food. Rhodiola Rosea, used for thousands of years, is a perennial flowering plant in the family Crassulaceae which grows naturally in the wild Arctic regions of North America, Europe (including Britain), & Asia. Commonly known as golden root, rose root, Arctic root, Aaron's rod, king's crown, lignum rhodium, orpin rose, it is an Adaptogenic Herb meaning that it acts in non-specific ways to increase resistance to stress without disturbing normal biological functions, thereby enhancing the body's physiology (functioning). Benefits (noticeable to me!) include increased resistance to stress, versatile nootropic (brain-boosting) effects such as memory/cognition, improved energy levels, strengthened the nervous system, fights depression/anxiety, enhanced immunity by establishing homeostasis (balance) within the body, elevated capacity for exercise (body-building, hard labor jobs, mowing the lawn), aids in weight reduction, increased sexual function (libido), protects heart health in many ways, and prevents/treats certain types of cancer with its high concentrations of antioxidants & anti-tumor action (especially bladder cancer). Mild side effects are rare. As always, before adding a new herbal element to your health regimen, you should "consult" with a "trained" medical professional (even though they'll always lie to you, being ignorant/rebellious toward you about truthful nutritional requirements of the body and the benefits thereof). The deadly medical trap of putting your overall health into the (greedy) hands of a (smiling) white-coated medical professional (say "Yes, doctor") who was trained in a Rockefeller medical school (established in the early 1900's for the purpose of legally-forcing toxic drugs onto everybody) can actually be safely avoided. It is true that they are good for treating broken bones/accidents in the Emergency Room sometimes; however, it is also true & noteworthy that doctors commit suicide more than any other occupation, and among doctors, the psychiatrist commit suicide the most. Perhaps their guilty conscience overrides their annual income of (approx.) one million or more dollars?

Really nice supplement for a bit of a boost and helps with adhd symptoms. Inoffensive taste and easy to dose. I did however have issues with insomnia and autoimmune aggravation.

really happy with this purchase. My only qualm would be the time it takes for delivery to Australia - apart from that, I’m very happy with this purchase. It’s that one supplement I can always rely on to switch my brain on when I need to.
