Stop Discourages Nail Biting and Thumb Sucking, 0.3 Ounce

This WORKS!!! I am in my 30s and could never stop biting my nails until I tried Mavala Stop. I tried another similar product in college which wasn't nearly as strong and actually left a big coat of product that I loved to pick off - not helpful at all. I'm so glad that I looked into this again and wish I found it 20 years ago! You will definitely not bite your nails with this on. Just a nibble and you'll be reminded to stop - if you keep going for it (nails or fingers near them), the taste will get even worse (yes, it's possible) and that'll be the end of the biting! A few months ago I bought my first bottle and applied it about every other day to keep the taste strong enough to work. My nails immediately started growing out and I loved them. I thought that the habit was kicked, but unfortunately the nails got bitten again. I've stocked up and realized that I need to just keep using this. Fortunately, it's a very nice clear coat that I like wearing and could wear forever. The only downside to using this product is that I get a bad taste when I floss my teeth. My solution, which my husband recommended anyways, is to floss first, then brush my teeth - the toothpaste gets completely rid of the taste of Mavala STOP (which isn't horrible when flossing, just rather unpleasant). Update: If I don't wear gloves while shredding meat in the kitchen, this can ruin the taste of the meat, especially if I applied the polish within the last 24 hours. Well worth it! Highly recommended!!!

This product delivered. It not only stopped my 8 year old daughter from biting her nails, it helped strengthen them as well. My daughter picked up the nasty habit of biting her nails after we weaned her off the pacifier and sometime during pre-school. It was like heroin for her and no amount of talking or scolding helped. She was ashamed she could not stop and ashamed that her nails looked like ugly as hell. This was a HUGE problem. It seemed unfixable. I bought this as a last ditch effort, as my research online pretty much told me this would be a lifetime addiction. For the first 3 days, she resisted. She was upset, ashamed, etc. She would put her nails in her mouth, then spit out the nastiness, cry and complain. Then on day 4, it all turned around. She stopped putting her fingers in her mouth due to the nastiness, her nails became healed, and strong, and beautiful. She was so happy and proud. She saw the difference and actually welcomed having to put this on every few days. Actually, when it wears off and we forget to reapply, she STILL doesn't bite her nails. Last week, she went to the nail salon and put colored polish on, then the next day we re-applied this product over it, no problem! It's nothing short of a miracle. Not everything works for everybody, but for us, this was a godsend. Highly recommend you give it a try.

I'm using this product in an attempt to stop my nail biting habit. I've been using it for 4 weeks and I've had excellent success so far. I was worried that the taste might not be strong enough, or it would be something that I'd get used to over time. Not true at all! It's very potent and nasty. It's hard to get the taste out of your mouth or off your lips unless you drink something or wash your mouth. It does wear off your nails within a day after regular showers and hand washings or chores involving water. I have to apply it every day for it to be effective. It is possible to eat finger food without tasting the polish if you're careful to keep the polish on your nail and cuticles only. Eatig with your fingers would be hard if you're using this product in an attempt to cease thumb or finger sucking. I love it so far for its wonderful effectiveness. This is the first time in my life that I've been able to grow nails.

Seems to be one of the more effective and grosser tasting products like this to deter nail biting or thumb sucking. I have a 4 year old who is a relentless thumb sucker. This slowed him down for awhile (and more than other products we tried), but now it doesn't stop him for long and he is still thumb sucking! It's a much cheaper alternative than some of the other products available (thumb guard type devices - those didn't work with my son either), so I think this product is worth a try.

I'm 37 and have been biting my nails forever. Well almost...I did stop for a bit several years ago by using a product called Stopzit(no longer available). I've since tried THUM which didn't work at all for me,-it took too long for the taste to start, my nails were long gone before the Hot from the pepper kicked in. Mavala tastes really bad. As soon as I would mindlessly put my fingers to my lips I learned that I didn't want to do that again. This is also sanitary- it helps me keep my dirty fingers away from my mouth. I have been using it about a month and my nails have never been this long and healthy. I don't know how long I will have to use it to kick the habit, but its been working as long as I keep it applied(every couple days). The taste can come off on finger food. I'm learning to use a napkin instead of licking my fingers, and that's not a bad thing either. I bought 2 and have one at work just in case I forget to apply at home. I have also used it on my son's shirt collar to help him stop chewing on it. It looks like this stuff will last forever......God Bless you as you take control of your nasty habits!

Used this when my daughter was 3 to help her quit finger sucking- she stopped for about 6 months. We moved (and I think that triggered some stress) and she started up again but this time she claimed to not mind the taste and continued to suck her fingers. She's now almost five and we're on our third round of using this product (after unsuccessful attempts with mittens and a finger guard) and it seems to be going well. I hope it sticks this time! Also don't let your kid reach into any containers of food while wearing this- your food will then taste like the nailpolish! Bleck!

I have 2 thumb suckers, age 7 and 8. We have tried almost everything to get them to stop sucking their thumbs. Nothing worked. They had orthodontist consults about their teeth and he recommended this product as he wouldn't do the work until the thumbsucking stopped since it would be a waste of time and money. I put this on their thumbs on a Friday evening and had meltdowns about how they wouldn't sleep. (Kind of true the first night) They rushed into the bathroom and washed their thumbs. This stayed on. I painted it on again Sat morning and Sat night (nail only) Then I started Ninja painting them after bed for extra absorption time. I have not caught them with a thumb in their mouth since starting this product. The taste is horrible as I accidentally got some on my finger and then mouth. It was still potent on my own finger hours later with scrubbing. Highly recommend. It is worth the price.

Una vez puesto, queda como un brillo de uñas normal. En las instrucciones po e que te lo renueves cada dos días, pero dura más que eso. Sabe horrible, y el sabor inunda toda la boca. Cuidado incluso al llevarte comida a la boca con las manos, porque puede saberte amarga! En definitiva: mis uñas agradadecen este producto, pero mi estómago no tanto 😅

Ottimo. Mangiucchio le unghie da quando ho memoria di esistere. Spesso le ho devastate, aspettando diversi mesi per rivedere l'unghia integra. Attualmente su tutte le unghie ho di nuovo la parte bianca (non so il nome tecnico) quindi super approvato. UNICO DIFETTO: è abbastanza "solubile", dunque se mangiate qualcosa con le mani, come un panino o finger food, anche se non entra in contatto con le unghie, un po' si sparge anche sui polpastrelli, dunque al palato vi arriverà il sapore sgradevole. Quindi consiglio di, anche se "strano" per il tipo di cibo, di mangiare con le posate
