100% VEGAN! (Most of these aren't) and rivals restaurant food!
Look, every reviewer is a different person. But here's my 100% authentic and honest review. I LOVE THIS CURRY! Its SO good that seriously... Ive had food in restaurants that couldn't touch this!!! You get a case of 6 "meals" (more on that later) and they are simply a plastic tray with rice on one side and "curry concoction" on other. You peel off the film completely (don't just poke a hole... instructions stress PEEL IT OFF COMPLETELY). No idea why. But I followed the instructions. I mixed most of the rice into the sauce and vise versa. I wanted a little "just rice" so i could rate just the rice, and a little "just sauce mixture" so i could rate it separately as well. Its all amazing! The rice was a tiny spec dry after cooking in my microwave, but the sauce fixed that completely. Sauce alone was even better. Mixed its heavenly bliss in a plastic tray! Look. I own a VEGAN organic farm, (animals shouldn't die at my version of a farm) and we grow over 300 varieties of exotic fruits nuts grains leafy greens veggies mushrooms etc. So I eat a lot of what I grow. When we cook, because were all vegan, we tend to cook whole foods from scratch. So Im NOT the typical reviewer in that I just dont eat processed foods often. This one checked all the boxes, and I needed some fast instant meals for when Im working these long hours, and so I chose this. Its seriously good. Coming from a person who usually cooks home cooked meals... that should be an extra compliment! I mean its REALLY REALLY good. Im fighting off opening another pack now.SIZE: Size wise its a small meal, but its quite filling due to the rice.A lot of people are scared of carbs. I don't subscribe to the whole "carbs are bad.. carbs cause weight gain" bs. Theres more to that, and if it were true, why are all the healthiest peoples on Earth eating a VERY HIGH in carbs diet? I could elaborate, but Id rather just ask you to watch some docs like what the health and gamechangers. Point is carbs in MY opinion as a self professing food nutritionist and food system studier are completely healthy. Maybe just dont load that baked potato down with sour cream cheese and butter? So I wouldn't stress the rice. Seriously. The healthiest people on Earth eat lots of rice.I cant comment on price because due to vine layout I cant see the price after I purchase. But Id say $5 a meal or less is fair, so $30 for the box would be fair. How do I come up with that? Its healthier than a burger and fries, and thats what youd pay for that.If you found this educational, informative, or just a spec thought provoking, or if any part of this review helped you make a purchase decision, please click that HELPFUL button beside my review! Authentic flavor, super easy to prepare!
I absolutely LOVE Indian food but most convenient, at home options that I have tried have left me feeling unsatisfied. They just don't compare to the meals you get at an authentic Indian restaurant. That flavor and authenticity is very difficult to replicate at home, especially with microwavable meals.Cooking is a cinch. Just open the package, peel off the film, and heat for 90 seconds. I like to heat mine half way through and stir, then resume cooking, just to make sure everything is evenly heated. To prevent microwave splatter, I would highly recommend using a microwave safe splatter shield on top.Once cooled, I actually transfer the rice onto a larger dinner plate, then add the split lentil curry on top. It just makes it easier to mix and eat. The basmati rice is a bit bland when eaten on its own but when all the flavors meld together in one bite, it's quite tasty! I love that the rice isn't stuck together in one giant congealed blob. I have even added my own additional protein to the dish to amp up the flavors and protein content even more. For a prepare-at-home meal cooked in the microwave, this split lentil curry with steamed rice is surprisingly good!!! Does it taste as good as freshly prepared food? Definitely not nor would I expect it to. It is still a great alternative and I appreciate being able to enjoy an Indian dish at lunch which is something I would rarely get to do otherwise. :) I am definitely going to be checking out what other flavors they have to offer!

Great
We have never had curry before, so for us, this was a great product to try. The curry and rice come in a divided cardboard bowl and is so easy to microwave, and within 2 minutes it was hot and ready to serve. We used it as a side dish, and the recommended serving per bowl is 2, and since we weren’t sure whether or not we would like it, this was the perfect size. Everyone loved it, as the both the rice and the curry tasted fresh and as if I had made it from scratch myself. The protein content is good as a side dish to eat the whole serving. I microwave this at home, but it is a great meal to go send in my husband’s lunch along with some vegetables and fruit. I also give this brand kudos for offering it in a sturdy cardboard container rather than a flimsy paper or styrofoam one. I normally steer away from packaged meal type items because of the ingredients but looking at this one - I recommend every ingredient - Wow! That is amazing! I highly recommend this product - my family loves it, and it is so convenient!

Taste good but quite poor value
I got this "Food Earth Organic Indian Split Lentil Curry with Steamed Rice" to try and I definitely like the taste. It is easy to make and doesn't need to be refrigerated for store which is great.I do have complaint for the price though, it is a lot more expensive than similar product I can find locally. And for that reason I cannot recommend it.I hope you find this review helpful and thanks for reading.

More rice than curry.
I was unimpressed at my first impression, but I ended up liking the resulting flavor. I still object to the fact that the rice slot is bigger than the curry, though. There should be more curry!! Or equal proportions! With the lentils, you already have a starchy thing, so the rice is great but not necessary to have a ton of it.The lentil curry is really salty. I did not like it especially on their own. Mixed with the rice is good, but even so… it was a bit salty and still a bit bland.I poured balsamic vinegar over the rice, and that combated the saltiness, and also gave the flavor a good full background that I ended up liking. They are microwavable. And yet, you have to peel the cardboard and the plastic off… then the tray is exposed. You’ll want something to put over it otherwise your microwave will have curry all over it.So overall… I’m not impressed. I ended up liking the flavor a lot (with the balsamic) and they are convenient, but I would not get them again.
