2-Month Use Review May 2026 After using this Kenmore for 2 months, I still stand by everything I stated during my first use in March. So far the only dislike I have found is the two large rear wheels. It makes it extremely hard to pull the vacuum from room to room or around furniture because the wheels only go one way. There is a third wheel that is near the front of the vacuum and recessed underneath. That one is a caster style wheel. I believe if the two large rear wheels were replaced with similar caster style wheels that the vacuum would be much less cumbersome to use. Still a good vacuum and still happy with my purchase, sans the rear wheels. March 2026 - This is a first-use review of the Kenmore BC3005 Blue Pet Friendly Canister Vac. Purchased March 6 2026. I consider myself a pretty tidy housekeeper and people often mention my house looks nice, but this vacuum has proved them wrong. I had vacuumed 3 days prior to the first use of this Kenmore using *oover upright that is about 10 years old. Except for my kitchen and dining, my house is wall to wall carpet. Assembly - Fairly straightforward. No issues. Manual is easy to understand. Canister - Seems sturdy. A little awkward to pull along unless you're in a wide open area, but this may just be me getting used to a canister vs always having an upright vac Hose - very flexible and easy to work with. Switch out of cleaning heads is easy with a press of your foot. The telescope feature is nice for reaching curtains and under beds. Cleaning heads - all are very useful. I do not have hardwood but found the hard floor attachment nice to gently go over curtains without having to remove them. I did use it to vacuum under a low clearance dresser (3") and it allowed me to clean completely underneath - something my upright was impossible to do. The brush attachment made easy work with cleaning my honeycomb blinds without damaging the fragile fabric. The crevice tool was nice for getting the dust from the carpet along the baseboards. The carpet head has easy foot-tap height change. It did a fantastic job on lifting the pile of my older carpet. Before opening the dust bag I was pretty pleased with how my carpet looked. After opening the dust bag (which I did because I accidentally vacuumed a button), the amount of dust and who knows what else was absolutely disgusting! I had no idea my upright was missing so much. The vacuum bags are great as far as trapping dust and allergens. One of the pics I took after cutting the bag open shows the multi layer assembly. Three layers of fabric tissue and an outer layer of tight bond fabric on the exterior. Nothing escaping this bag! The bag does seem to be too long for the compartment, but I just folded it up toward the opening. So far I am completely satisfied with this Kenmore and would recommend it. I will update this review if I encounter any issues in the future My photos show the layers of the bag and how much debris it pulled in (yea, it's nasty). I purchased the Kenmore BC3006 400 Black for my dusty apartment, and it’s been great. The bag is easy to install and remove, and it keeps dust contained well. It has strong suction with surprisingly low noise. The attachments work perfectly on both area rugs and hardwood floors. It’s also lightweight and easy to maneuver.

Great suction, but the little pop out floor attachment is useless. It isn't flexible enough to lay flat on hard floors, and the door pops open easy so I just have it tap3d shut. The pet tool is my favorite and highly effective. I suggest the bags on here that are hepa or directly from bissel because the only ones they care at Walmart are th3 Great Value Brand, thin, almost paper bag material, and I feel the let the inside of the canister get more dusty than it should. I wanted a canister I could use on carpet and hard floor. It works on both, but the vacuum head is very heavy, so getting in corners you have to go around with an attachment for sure. Use this for my cleaning business and it has held up for several cleans so far.

First let me say I have been a 50 yr supporter of Kennmore products as has been my family. So, when my previous kennmore canister vacuum expired after several years of rugged use (teenagers & dog), it was a no brainer for me to replace with another one of the same type. It arrived swiftly and was gladly received with enthusiasm to get to work. Functioned terrifically....hardwood floors, area carpets, great suction and power for pet hair. Very pleased. But then...after only one months use, the hose detached/seperated from the canister in a way it wasn't designed to. I attempted to reassemble. Plugged it and turned on. Sparks flew like crazy. Scary! Amazon was great about returning it and sending a replacement. Two months later, exact same thing happened to the replacement. My husband attempted to gently reassemble and once again, sparks flew like crazy. Dangerous to say the least!!! Came back to my transaction account on Amazon to see what the next step might be. Apparently Amazon only makes good on one return. After that, I was directed to the manufacturer...Kennmore. At this point, they are not sending a replacement. They are going to send me a new part. However the part is out of stock and on back order. Actually, the part they are sending goes to another model, I was told but it's the same for both models but might be a different color. May be on back order for one month and if not received by then, call them back. In the meantime, my house is full of pet hair from my large Labrador shedding his winter coat. I asked about just having a whole replacement instead but according to what I was told, the whole vacuum is also on back order. I have to wait for the part and if it doesn't come, then they will decide how to handle it next. Really, this is a huge issue for me. I can't give the vacuum itself a good review since both of them broke in the same way. There must be a weakness or defect in the product. I also can't say Kennmore has been good to work with either. 4/28/24 I just came back on here to check if there were any follow-up comments by either Amazon or Kenmore as I sometimes see when I read a review that gives a low rating. No comments, but I decided to read some of the other poor reviews while I was on the site. I wish I would have read them first!! I am having the exact same problems....the hose connection, the burning and sparks. I never read the reviews, because as I initally wrote, I have been a Kenmore product user for at least 50 yrs and my family before that even....( washers, dryers, stoves, refrig, freezer - actually have a 43 yr old Kenmore chest freezer in my basement working beautifully, vacuums and probably other things too). So, I figured it was a no brainer, no need to read the reviews. What a mistake. 5/30/24 So the new hose/part arrived about a week ago, maybe a week and a half. Due to illness I didn't get to try it out right away. Able to get to business today. Surprise, surprise....the new part does NOT work. Looks just like the part that failed. Although the representative did tell me the replacement would not be the one that went to the model I purchased, but one that went to a similar model that used the same hose. Well....apparently not!! At this point, I do not know who to contact anymore. I am now at 6 mos past origional purchase. When/if I finally get through to customer service today, will they say time has expired and I am past warranty date?? So, $348.15 down the drain!?? I will repost an update after today with the results. By now, I should be sent a refund, obviously another new machine will not solve the problem since it seems this model is defective.

Kenmore cannister vacuum cleaners are our favorite vacuum cleaners. Over the years we have purchased many vacuum cleaners and always buy a Kenmore. They are dependable, easy to maneuver, strong suction, easy to change the bag and just a terrific vacuum cleaner. Our last one lasted many, many years and eventually seen better days. Of course we were delighted to find this one in Amazon. This Kenmore BC 3005 Pet Friendly Canister Vacuum Cleaner is definitely worth the price!

I've had this for almost a year, and adore it except for one thing. I'll get that out of the way, because your mileage really may vary on my one complaint. (The ONLY) Complaint: The upholstery/pet attachment with the spinning wheel died screaming after about 3 uses cleaning the stairs. I'm going to get it repaired or replace it, but I bear the manufacturer NO ill will, because (read on) PROS! This thing has consumed so much cat hair I can't believe our 5 cats have any fur left. I bought this about a few months after a ridiculously chaotic move after reading SO many reviews and asking SO many people. A few months. Do you have ANY idea how much 5 cats can shed in a few NORMAL months on thick carpet, let alone during and after a stressful move? New carpet in a BEDROOM. With SUNBEAMS. Do you have any idea how much DUST erupts from all the boxes as they go INTO that bedroom and get unpacked? Do you know how much cats just AMBLE AROUND when it's bedtime? Or just loll around in the middle of the night, or get the zoomies? And SHED THE WHOLE TIME? But the Kenmore did not complain. It did not falter. It ATTACKED that carpet with ZERO complaint and made the brand-new carpet look brand-new again. POOF. Was it heavy? NOPE. It made me honestly wonder why may parents had an upright vacuum cleaner while I was growing up. It even GOT THE CAT HAIR off my velvet quilt with one of the other attachments, said hello to a kitty under the bed effortlessly because it's unbelievably maneuverable, and got cobwebs I'm WAY too short to get. And watching the cats react to the retractable cord...well, I love my cats, but that's hilarious EVERY time. So that one attachment surrendered on the stairs. FINE. Honestly, it REALLY wouldn't surprise me if that was partially user error pressing too hard because I didn't know you didn't have to. And I am SO pleased with this vacuum. Even if the cats are deeply suspicious.

I've been using Kenmore pet-friendly canister vacuums for many years and still use them despite their imperfections. Pros: Very strong suction, double motor for extra power, power brush for pet hair (we have a lab who sheds tons of hair), several other attachments included, it's easy to get under furniture and it has an extra long power cord. Cons: The biggest con is that the base motor dies after a few years no matter how you use it. It can still be used with one of the included attachments, but they're not nearly as effective as that double-motor base. The pop-up brush does annoyingly pop open constantly but some tape fixes that. It's not perfect but if you're willing to buy a new one every six or seven years, you won't be disappointed with this vacuum.

I have used Kenmore canister vacuum cleaners for 50 years. This is the third one I have purchased. This model is not as good as the first two models I have owned. On this model the oversized plastic collar designed to be the attachment point for the various attachments is so large as to prevent vacuuming under some of my furniture. Now, I have to take the Swiffer and get the debris from under the low furniture before I vacuum. The older models did not have these bulky plastic collars at the metal hose joints, thereby easily fitting under the sofas and chairs. The older models' hard floor tool swiveled easily to adjust to vacuuming shoe moldings and baseboards. This new one is rather stationary with a very slight tilt up-down which is not easily controlled. The pet hair tool is not jointed so it is easily positioned on the furniture, but is a straight extension of the hose, making it awkward to get the job done. The plastic hook, designed to hold the hose while being stored, broke during the first 6 months of use. On the last model I owned, this feature lasted in excess of 20 years. I appreciate the good suction and the HEPA filtration system. Overall I am a bit disappointed. I think they have "improved" it to the point where it is just not as good as before.

This is a power house machine! I use a battery vacuum, for quick temp cleaning of pet hair I have two shedding fur kid dogs. This unit has huge suction power ... and absolutely worth the investment. I have owned 3 Kenmore vacuums.... my first one died after 28 years ...so i had to use my second one 16 years old to replace it in my rental unit..... This machine is amazing.... I am so impressed with its cleaning abilities and how it out performs my older units! Great job Kenmore! Looking forward another decades of use!

I bought this vacuum because I was using a floor only vacuum for hardwood floors but it was not picking up the cat hair on the area carpets. I should mention I also have a power vacuum on a different floor of the house so I started using that - both these vacuums are Miele and lightweight. In the end, I determined that I needed another power vacuum. After a lot of research I chose the Series 600 Kenmore and overall am very satisfied with the purchase. The dual motors are very powerful and the machine practically walks itself across the carpeted areas. It picks up any cat hair on the first pass. The power-mate for pet hair on the upholstery also works extremely well. I also like the 26 ft. cord although it sometime gets in my way. The power head is dual mode and it is easy to switch from carpet to hardwood floor mode. - no need to change heads. If I have a complaint it is the weight and the noise. I can tolerate the noise as the vacuuming doesn't take nearly as long and as far as the weight is concerned (machine plus power head) I make it a point not to carry it very far. I have a bad shoulder so am very conscious about not aggravating the situation. All that said the pros definitely outweigh the cons and I would highly recommend this vacuum.

UPDATE: YES get the Miele, it is a lot of plastic but it follows you around not you dragging it around. It is lightweight and works 10/10. Don't let anyone but you use it, they just won't understand. ORIGINAL: I got the purple pet one. It is convenient to have all the accessories on it but... it's so heavy and bulky, the pet attachment is already broken. There is so much bulky plastic on it, you cannot just take off the brush and quickly vacuum in the corners, you have to reattach another brush since the telescopic wand is so big. The suction is okay but the brush is too powerful and gets stuck on normal flat carpeting and must be reset. I dislike vacuuming so much and this machine just makes matters worse. Now I am stuck with it at least for another year when most products decide to give up anyway. I suppose the bright side is that we do not have to keep our appliances for 10 or 20 years anymore, they would never last that long. I also wonder if the people making vacuums have ever actually used a vacuum in their lives...

I have been using the vacuum for a few months now and it was well worth the money. It has excellent suction - I have carpets throughout my house and with the wider power head it covers the areas quickly. I like the onboard tools - very convenient and the long power cord and long hose means I don't need to constantly move the unit. And I like the on-off on the handle. The biggest negative for me is the weight - it is heavier than the vacuum I replace and I will not use it on a full stair case as I can't easily carry it due to arthritis in hips and knees. But for use on one level, does the job well.

Works as expected. Love it. Of course, a longer cord would earn 6 Stars.
