The description states easy set up - should only take a matter of minutes. I consider myself a pretty decent techie. Couldn’t get this router up and running. Finally had to call tech support. The tech support person was friendly and courteous and patient. After an hour and a half finally got it running. The manufacturer should supply a decent detailed set of instructions.

very easy to use UI good signal (1700 Sq Ft house) runs solid - no issues Netgear tech support leaves a lot to be desired. Shouldn't be an issue with this router - its a few years old - they've worked the bugs out

This is not a router you should buy. This is a case study in poor design and implementation. You buy this router. You pay for the Internet service to feed it. You expect it to distribute internal IP addresses to your devices and act as a firewall. But you only kind of own this one. You can't set it up without a Netgear account. You own it, but they make very sure that they control how you use it. Don't buy this thing. It's a horrible implementation. It actually forces you to use an account you don't need, without second factor authentication, to control your own network. There are two ways around this account requirement, but Amazon considers them "privileged" and won't publish the review if I list them. You don't need the account. It's your router use it how you want. Once you configure it, the router works very well. But requiring your owners to create a second access point and vulnerability in their router is just bad practice.
