We still produce it with the same painstaking craftsmanship we used back then. Our Chambord is proudly made in Europe, just as it has always been. Please Note: With the exception of the Chrome and Matte Chrome colors; only the glass, plunger and filter are dishwasher safe. The frame and lid should be hand washed with a non-abrasive sponge. For each 8-ounces of coffee, you want to brew; put 2 rounded tablespoons or 2 Bodum scoops of coarse-ground coffee into the carafe. After the water has boiled; wait for 10-15 seconds before pouring into the carafe. Leave a minimum of 1 inch of space at the top. Stir with a plastic or wood spoon. Place the plunger unit on top of the pot. Turn lid to close off the pour spout opening. Do not press down. Let the coffee brew for 4 minutes. After the 4-minute brew has completed, gently press down the plunger and you are now ready to enjoy a delicious cup of French Press coffee. The beaker is made of High-Quality Borosilicate glass is ultra-light and strong, has great heat- resistant properties, and will not get cloudy in the dishwasher. The Stainless Steel spiral plate keeps the filter mesh in place and makes sure that water goes through but no ground coffee. The flexible spiral provides a universal fit taking into account the manufacturing tolerances of glass jugs. The Stainless Steel Filter Plate is a key component to the Bodum coffee makers. It separates the ground coffee beans from the water after the brewing has stopped. With the exception of items with Chrome or Matte Chrome finish; Only the Beaker, Filter and Plunger are dishwasher safe. Use a non-abrasive sponge to clean the frame and lid. ## Features - Bodum Chambord: Full-bodied, aromatic coffee enjoyment: The classic French Press with stainless steel press stamp and fine sieve unfolds the full aroma – without paper filters or capsules. - ELEGANT AND DURABLE MATERIALS Heat resistant borosilicate glass preserves the pure taste and ensures stylish coffee enjoyment. - Scandinavian design, made in Portugal: timeless, simple and functional - a stylish eye-catcher in any kitchen. - MADE FOR EVERYDAY USE: Rugged stainless steel and glass components are dishwasher safe - reliable, easy to care for, and durable. - Better coffee, less waste: Enjoy sustainably - without disposable filters or capsules. I am trying so hard to find a French press that is NOT made in China and DOES NOT have any plastic parts. Extremely frustrating that it doesn't seem to exist. **Q: is the cover/ lid metal ?** A: Thursday, February 27, 2014Good Evening Marie:The cover/lid on the Bodum Chambord 3 cup French Press is metal. The little black knob that sits on top is made of hard plastic. Hope this helps. Here's to Great Health and the Perfect Cup of Coffee/Espresso. Sincerely,A. Crowell **Q: I'm concerned about plastic. Is there any plastic on/in this product and does it come into contact with the water/coffee at all?** A: The Bodun Chambord models all have metal parts except for the little ball on top of the stem and the cover. The carafe is always glass. I had a problem a few years back with a Bodun model that had a plastic piece connecting the filter to the stem; it broke after a few months use so I also was concerned about plastic parts. I would also avoid metal carafes just because the coffee doesn't taste good to me when brewed in a metal container. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good quality *by on Reviewed in the United Arab Emirates 19 July 2026* Its good and I will buy again. ### ⭐ Defective item *by on Reviewed in the United Arab Emirates 29 September 2022* It’s an defective item!! ### ⭐⭐⭐ Filtr fusów szybko się odkształcił *by on Reviewed in Poland 26 May 2022* Dawniej produkty marki Bodum były wyśmienitej jakości. ## Frequently Bought Together - Bodum 17oz Chambord French Press Coffee Maker, High-Heat Borosilicate Glass, Polished Stainless Steel – Made in Portugal - Bodum Replacement Glass Two Cup, 17-Ounce Spare Glass --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.jp/products/249208630-chambord-french-press-coffee-silver-17-ounce-1924-16us4](https://www.desertcart.jp/products/249208630-chambord-french-press-coffee-silver-17-ounce-1924-16us4) --- *Product available on Desertcart Japan* *Store origin: JP* *Last updated: 2026-10-08*
