Fantastic rice cooker, easy to clean, easy to use. Reliable every time.

My son has one of these rice cookers and during a recent visit, he used it and the rice came out perfect. I immediately bought one, and although we have different wattage microwaves, using the chart that comes with it, my rice also came out perfect. The chart is so tiny that it is hard to read, but it lists cooking times, water requirements, etc., for many different types of rice: Basmati, brown, white, etc. PLUS, it all goes in the dishwasher. It is very lightweight. The orange spoon not only locks the lid on while cooking, but makes it easy to scoop out the rice after cooking. Wish all my cooking tools worked as good as this does.

I love this so much!! It makes incredible rice, it works so great and makes my life a lot easier. I struggle with motivation and making more than one thing for myself to eat at once. This makes it easy to have an entree and side without stressing. Clean up is very easy. The paddle is great, I love this product!

I've had this product for a little over 3 years and maybe used it a dozen times. It's worked wonderfully each and every time until today. Had it stored safely away on a shelf in my pantry and I pulled it out separated the basket from the unit and the handle popped off. That is a little strap handle with a little plastic pivot in the basket. I am very sad that this happened as I have enjoyed this rice steamer each and every time.

Love love love this awesome M-Cuisine microwave rice cooker by Joseph Joseph. I have been a fan of JJ's product design for a long time and have owned a few of their products. But this little microwave rice cooker was a curiosity buy. Saw it on Amazon and thought...This could be neat if it works. Being Chinese, cooking rice in a microwave is not a new concept. In Asia, there's plenty of single serving microwave rice packages sold in every grocery store. But when I saw this on my Amazon suggestions, I was instantly intrigued. The M-Cuisine microwave rice cooker worked perfectly. I really appreciate the attention to details with this product design. How this work: -measure the amount of rice desire for your cooking with the provided measuring cup per the cooking instruction fold out. -wash your rice with the inner black pot which also serves as a strainer so you can wash your rice and then put it back into the main pot. The inner strainer pot also has a folding handle that folds down perfectly in place. -empty all water from the inner pot strainer. Leave the cleaned wet rice inside the inner pot. -add water (refer to the ratio of water to rice portion formula in cooking instruction) -place inner pot/strainer into the larger white pot. -place the cover over the main white pot. -place the spatula over the cover, align and twist the spatula clockwise into the open slotted area of the main pot. The spatula also helps defuse the steam from shooting upward inside the microwave. The hole for the steam on the cover is aligned directly under the spatula which helps redirect the pressure of the steam sideways (horizontally vs vertically). This helps keeps the inside of the microwave nice and clean...Genius! -place pot inside microwave. -microwave cooking time for 1 cup of rice is 15 mins. Please note, the pot is extremely hot after cooking so make sure to use proper heat-resistant oven mitts. Also, the steam during the cooking process will create a very thin white film over your cover (looks a bit like a thin layer of dried white elmers glue on your hand). At first glance, it will look like your cover has been ruined from the heat of the microwave. But don't panic. This is normal thanks to the genius placement of the spatula. You can easily clean this off with a damp towel and the cover will look beautiful again. This is a fantastic and must have cookware for any kitchen. You don't really need one if you have a rice cooker, but it is so convenient to cook rice with the M-Cuisine microwave rice cooker. This really is a game changer. Everything you need is all contained into one unit. I really appreciate that. Another plus having this microwave rice cooker is you can bring this over to a friends place who doesn't have a rice cooker. With this little guy, you can have freshly cooked rice for 2-3 guests in 15 mins. Easy peasy. This really is a game changer. You don't realize you need one until you have one. Then you can't live without one.

I had extremely low expectations for this product. I still have my old black and decker rice cooker/ veg steamer, and it works well. But it’s 20 years old. So, I took a chance and ordered this product. Very pleasantly surprised! The rice consistency is close to the output of my old B&D, and cooks in 1/3 the time. It came nicely boxed, with a little owners manual, a nice spoon, and a useful measuring cup. I’d recommend it.

I've been cooking rice in a Zorijushi rice cooker for probably about 25 years now. I usually put it on the fast cooking setting, which takes 35 minutes for white rice. Even though it's pretty fast, sometimes the 35 minutes still annoy me. Very often we have to wait for the rice cooker to finish when everything else is already done. So I started researching microwave rice cookers. I read lots and lots of reviews about these microwave rice cookers and was a bit hesitant to try it. There were many negative reviews that mentioned it leaking all over the microwave and producing rice that wasn't even edible. There were also positive reviews, so I decided to give it a try. I just used it for the first time this evening. I was running late, I'd forgotten to put rice in my cooker, so decided to unpack the microwave cooker that had been sitting in a box for many days and give it a try. I used Jasmine rice. 1 1/2 cup of rice. The instructions said 500ml water, so I did 2 cups and a little splash. I have a 1200 W microwave. The instructions are for 800 W. So I put my microwave on power setting 7 and had it cook for 15 minutes. After that I let it stand for another 5 minutes before opening it. When I opened the microwave, I saw nothing had leaked. Excellent! I then carefully opened the pot and it looked like real cooked rice! I fluffed it up a bit with the included paddle and put it on our dinner table. No need to get emergency rice out of our freezer! The quality of the rice was definitely not bad at all. Maybe slightly on the mushy side, so next time I might leave out the splash of water and do exactly 2 cups and maybe do 14 minutes instead of 15? I don't know yet. I might do a tiny bit of tweaking until I'm totally happy with the consistency. However, the first time trying, I got very edible rice. Oh, cleanup was easy too. So no stars to deduct for that. And I like it that you can wash the rice directly in the colander part of the cooker. So I'm going to give this cooker the full 5 stars.

This rice cooker is quicker, easier, and does a better job than my tradisional rice steamer!.. I was pleasantly surprised at how well it worked. 2-cups of rinsed Jasmine rice, 3-1/2 cups of water, 15-minutes in the microwave, and I have 4- cups of perfectly cooked rice. Much better rice than my Oster electric rice cooker. It's also quick and easy to clean when you're done. The only thing I would change is it needs some type of small plastic loop on the top lid to open it after cooking. There's just a small nub in the middle which is hard to grab when it's hot. I had to stick a knife tip in a vent slot to pull it open. Not a big deal though.

新生活の人、1人〜2人暮らしにはかなりオススメできます！ とにかく炊飯ジャーだと場所も取るし、蓋も分解して洗わないといけません。そして不潔だと保温でお米が臭くなったりして面倒ごとが多いです。 正直保温してまでいつでも温かいお米が食べられるってメリット無いです。電気代もかかるし痛むのも早くなるし。 その点こちらはとりあえず2合ほど炊いておく→粗熱を取りつつ10分放置して蒸す→食べる→残りは冷蔵庫に容器ごとなおす→食べたい時によそって電子レンジで再加熱 固定された場所も取らないし、全部食洗機にいれて丸洗いできるし、炊き込みご飯も麦ご飯もわかめご飯も次の炊飯の時ニオイ気にせずいけます！ とても大活躍しています。 いつも2合で使用しますが、麦ご飯の時は3合にします。そうすると少し床面に吹きこぼれていますが容器と床面を濡れた布巾で拭けば終わりです！ 付属の計量カップは使っていませんが 計量器で2合(300g)を計る。 内釜のザルに米を入れダイレクトに流水洗い。 チャッチャと水を切り４５０mlの水を入れる。 浸す時間0分で15分電子レンジで加熱。 10分電子レンジ内で放置。 出来上がり！ 準備含めて手も濡れず30分以内に終わるのですごく楽です。 持っている電子レンジが700Wしかないのでそれでやっても問題なく炊けてます。 あとは電子レンジに依るところもあると思いますので2〜3回やってみるとコツが掴めると思います。 ザルの取手が折れたとか初期不良かガサツなのかプラスチックなんだから丁寧に扱えば何も気になりません。 使用後のレンジ庫内の汚れもスチームでふやけて取れやすい状態になるので使うたび拭いていたら綺麗にできます。笑 調理時しゃもじで上蓋をロックするのですが、横着してロックせずに加熱したらレンジの中で吹きこぼれていました。 ちゃんと考えてありますね。 あらかた米粒取って食洗機にいれたらザルの網目も綺麗になるので本当にストレスフリーです。 これ使ったら炊飯ジャーは本当に要らなくなります！2人暮らしまでなら絶対オススメです！ プレゼントで貰ったら1番役に立って、重宝します！

I was looking for a smaller rice cooker to, well, make smaller portions of rice. I don't like making smaller portions with the big rice cooker at home cause it's always hit or miss and cooking in a pot on the stove is a mess to clean up. The idea of being able to zap up some rice in the microwave was intriguing and I just loved the overall style of the cooker that I took the dive and bought it. I bought the warehouse inspected one but would gladly pay the full price for this cooker. It's amazing! So easy to use and clean. Perfect rice every time. The instruction booklet is limited in terms of cooking time and water value for different types of rice but a little google search to confirm whether the type of rice I'm using belongs to one of the types listed solves that issue. It sort of can be trial and error, but so far I haven't missed. I highly recommend this rice cooker!
