Does the part work longer than 4 years?

Hi, yes this should work longer than 4 years depending also with the age of your vehicle.

What gauge are the wires on the new harness?

They are same size as factory wiring in the vehicle

Will this part fit a 2004 chev duramax 2500 HD?

Not sure but it fit perfectly in my 5.3l 2004 Silverado ext cab 2wd

Why does it work with a center console and not without one? My has p/n 15305077 but no console

Hi, there is another part that would fit with vehicle that has no rear AC vents on the center console. Here is the part that you need for your vehicle, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074HTW9KS
