Pelikan 924175 Pelikano Right-Hand Fountain Pen, Medium Nib, Red Barrel, Each

I bought this for my visiting eight-year-old granddaughter, who wanted to join her parents in using a fountain pen. I was pleased to see that it did fit a standard converter, since I have had little luck with provided cartridges (evaporation?). She had a choice of inks and chose Noodler's Zhivago. Her visit was a short one, but her initial experience seemed to be very good. There are, however, many "starter" pens from which to choose.

Escribe suave, aunque Platinum aun lo es mas, pero su forma es graciosa y desenfadada y me gusta para mi colección de estilográficas económicas, tiene la ventaja de utilizar cartucho universal.

I got this fountain pen for my son (age 9) and it has improved my son's handwriting, and his enjoyment of writing, immensely.It is a leading brand school fountain pen for upper primary age or above, as recommended by school stationery lists in continental Europe. The pen is easy to handle, with a soft-grip area that comes in 2 versions for Left-handed or Right-handed. The design of a proper fountain pen is ideal to help children develop more fluency in their handwriting, due to the elastic response of the nib. The M - size nib gives a medium thickness ink-line, which suits the intermediate stage (younger children should perhaps use a beginners' A-nib, and for them there is a Pelikano Junior version of the pen).The fountain pen will accept 2 standard small ink cartridges (e.g. royal blue washable ink that can be erased with ink-eraser pens), or one long size cartridge (which was included in the original pen we got), so the child needs to change the cartridge less often.Now why the 4 star rating?Other reviewers have described the stiff plastic clip as a design flaw when trying to clip the fountain pen into an adult pocket - well it is a children's pen, and schoolkids aren't really encouraged to clip ink devices to their clothes. BUT - this clip is so stiff indeed that you can't really clip it to anything but a thin sheet of paper, and, on a previously owned pen of the same design the clip did break, so it should be treated with care.So the pen is a classic, writes beautifully, chunky good looks, and my son loves it. Just don't flick the clip ...

Mein erster Füller war schon ein Pelikan. Seither habe ich viele durch - billigere und teuerere - und muss sagen: dieser hier ist einfach meiner!Er schreibt wunderbar weich ohne dabei zuviel Tinte aufs Papier zu bringen, die Strichstärke ist Geschmacksache, aber da bietet Pelikan ja auch eine Auswahl. Er liegt super in der Hand. Durch die Anti-Rutsch-Zone kann man ihn immer sehr gut halten.Und er ist absolut robust genug - auch für Schreibanfänger.Kaufen und freuen!
