If you’ve got a recently rehaired bow there are two choices. You can either spend an afternoon rubbing your sold rosin cake onto it or you can sprinkle with powdered rosin then rub a little with your solid rosin to distribute it. Using powdered rosin that has any grit at all will give a gritty sound until it redistributes.I’ve done a major edit here since the first layer in the bottle was a fine powder but then I got to a gritty part today, hit a mother lode of 1-2 mm grains. I’m also reducing from five stars to three. It works but I really wish I had a way of separating the grit.
