I think the recommended depth is 40mm for flush or surface mounting. **Q: Is there anything else needed for this, apart from an electrician to fit?** A: you need to bear in mind where you are fitting this - if its in existing tiles then the electrician may not be able to cut the tiles etc and may ask you to call a tiler for that. If its in a brickwall then the electrician will need to rout out a channel for the wire etc - and then you need to plaster / decorate make good etc after its fitted. If its in a stud partition, assuming there is access for wiring purposes, you just need a wall box to screw this into - this fits a standard 47mm wall box but you may need to find longer fixing screws as the ones supplied may be too short - an electrician should have the longer type.
