I bought the SZHLUX 4FT 140W Grow Light (2×70W, 800W Equivalent) to help my indoor plants get through the winter, and the difference has been incredible. These lights are bright, full‑spectrum, and deliver a clean, natural glow that keeps my plants thriving even on the darkest days. Every plant near them looks healthier, fuller, and noticeably more vibrant. Since the lights are installed close to my desk, I’ve realized I don’t even need my usual “happy lights” anymore—the brightness and spectrum from these grow lamps create a comfortable, energizing workspace on their own. Using them on the end of a coolgrows 2-1 grow tent. Just wish there was a dimmer addon. For when using for seedlings. Nice for herbs like basil and cilantro. Have to keep them high off the plant, cause they tend to make the basil flower. They put out a little heat too. Since I use them in a basement a little heat is welcome. Using a fan, I assume will help keep it cool in the summer. So far so good. If I have any issues or revelations I will update. Grow tasty food! Update: April 2022. I have to say these lights put out hardly any heat. My earlier assesment was wrong. I really like these lights. Bright and really make my young dahlias grow well. Getting them ready for the garden. Have over 50 plants under them. Next will be seedling tomatoes. Update; May 2022. I got one light temporarily standing on end. Lighting over 50 dahlias of different varieties on shelves in the shower. They are growing so fast. Some almost an inch a day. Not spindly at all. Update; June 2024. I also have purchased the 2ft lights. Just as great with no problem. Now, present day, I just purchased another set of the 4ft lights. My third purchase. Here is the issue. Was supposed to be in repackaged amazon box. That alone made me wait an extra week for delivery. When they arrived the lights came in the original box with a ripped hole. Missing most the mounting hardware. No booklet. Missing wire. Also I wonder if this was a return since there was no protective plastic on the light lens. Because the lights work and due to extra parts from my last two purchases I will keep them. But... Now I will rethink any future purchases from this company. Also, I am now not prone to recommend this item to a friend.

I have purchased a total of 4 of these lamps and overall I am pretty pleased with them. They work really well and have kept my plants happy and healthy for a few years now. They are very easy to setup and the included power cords can be used to link multiple together making them very usable. They seem to be a good size as just two of them provides enough light for my 6ft table full of house plants. I did have one fail after about two years of use, but other than that have had no other issues. Hopefully the other ones last much longer.

This will be the second 4-foot pair I have purchased and I also previously purchased a pair of 2-foot lights. My original grow lights were a set of four T5 fluorescent tubes in one fixture (hanging on a 4-foot “Jump-Start” light frame) in which I had replaced the fluorescent bulbs with four LED T5 bulbs. These SZHLUX Grow Lights are brighter and use less electricity, and were less expensive than the T5 LED replacement bulbs. I grew tomato seedlings under both fixtures at the same time, and the ones under the SZHLUX Grow Lights were stockier (stronger) and darker green (see the first attached picture). So I’m sold on these lights and will use them to replace the 4-foot T5 LED bulbs. They have a couple small shortcomings as mentioned in other reviews, but I think you would have to spend nearly twice as much as these to get better lights. The second picture shows the seedlings grown under these lights after just 4 weeks. I am able to keep the lights quite close to the plants since they don’t produce much heat. They advertise 8,885 lumens of light so no wonder that seem quite bright. They also boast a 50,000+ hour lifespan and a 2 year warranty so I should be using them for quite a while. Both 4-foot lights were only $60 so I highly recommend them to anyone who wants some good grow lights for a reasonable price!

I puchased 12 lights to use in a NFT hydroponic system (4 level system). 2 lights for backup. The manufacturer packaging was adequate and contained the electronic connectors, hanging hardware, reflectors, lights and instruction book. Amazon shipped the original package in their own larger box twice but sent 3 boxes in the original package/box. So, the hanging hardware and connectors are simple but function well. I super-glued the clips to the lights to make sure they are secure. Right out of the box, one light didn't work and two others flickered in the led panel. For one light, after a couple of minutes the flickering stopped. The assembly procedure was easy except for the reflectors because there is a tiny slot at each end where the reflector fits and, let's be honest you need to have patience to align it. Okay that was harder than it should have been. But, once I got the hang of it, assembling the reflectors was easy. I connected 8 lights in series without a problem but then read later that only 4 should be connected in series. Now, I have 2 sets of 4 lights connected in series. I purchased the lights in April, 22 and set them up in May, 22. I run them on a 'long day' cycle, ie. 16 hour days, for the last 4 months (today is Aug. 5th, 2022). I don't find the lights hot as I have read in other reviews. They are warm but not 'hot'. I hung them between 14 in. to 19 in. above the plants (lettuce/cucumbers/green peppers/cilantro/green beans/onions). I measured the PPFD at that distance. Here's the PPFD measurements using my phone app, (Photone): center: 538 umol/m2/s, out to 8in from 'center', 310 umol/m2/s. The recommended PPFD to grow lettuce is around 300 umol/m2/s so these lights are more than adequate. They are performing well for my lettuces, cilantro, arugula, as well as my 'fruiting' plants: cucumbers, onions, green peppers and green beans. I didn't expect to see fruiting plants produce anything because they are simply 40watt lights but surprise, cucumbers are coming like crazy and green beans and green peppers are growing great! I've had 2 harvests of over 200 lettuce plants in the last 4 months... yeah thats alot because the thought was to sell at a farmer's market. I need more experience before that happens but I expect to grow thru the winter with these lights. They get the job done and don't break your wallet. Greg

After 1.6 years, one of the lights is completely dead. The second light is flickering out. The support email given with the packaging never answers and neither does the one listed on their site. I’m extremely disappointed in the quality as I loved these lights and actually bought a set of 4 ft ones for seedlings. These were kept in a 50-60% humidity home & were run 8-10 hours a day. I expected them to last 3-4 years not less than 2. Their warranty apparently means nothing and customer service will not answer you.

Good shipping time. I was Leary first. B cuz you know... Budget stuff. This wasn't really budget tho. If you use a grow tent, this thing will reign! I don't an I'm not professional with lights. I put these on a 3 foot window / outside type grow thing in a back room for cannabis grow in veg so far. I'm impressed w this! The lights werk very good! They shot up like fire to 3 ft tall and branching in a matter of several days w 8 hr intervals! The kit comes 2 light rails and easy peezy assembly. A 8 yr old could do it. Comes w everything you need! Try one people I don't think you'll be disappointed! They're good for beginner or seasoned grower. If you want high quality buy high quality. I didn't see any reason to . Too much hyped up tent growers! Unless you absolutely have to be! Try it!

I’m fairly new to starting my vegetable plants from seed. My first try with only a window was a bust resulting in scrawny, leggy plants that I couldn’t use. Last year I purchased a clip on set of two very bright glow lights and though they worked pretty well, I really wasn’t illuminating my starts evenly. Still, I learned that a good grow light is a must. This year I found these lights. I’d decided to set up on a book case in an extra bedroom, the space being roughly 35”x15”. Using only one of the two in the set, I’ve been blown away by the results. I had the lights about 14” above my seed trays and the plants were never leggy or even leaning toward the center like I’d seen before. I put it on a timer to have them on for 15 hours every day. I started my seeds the exact same date as last year, when those lights had a timer switch to run 12 hours max. Seeing how fast my plants grew this year, I probably could’ve put off starting for another 2 weeks! As my tomatoes got taller, it looked like they might be getting too much light so I cut back to 12 hours and raised the mounting shelf a few pegs and they’re doing great. The lights come with hardware to mount on chains or with clips that we used to screw onto a shelf board. The lights are very bright...not hot...but the fins help direct the light downward and the spread over the entire shelf is plenty just using the one unit. I’ll probably set up another shelf for more plants elsewhere with the extra light. I am more than thrilled with this purchase. Now that I can do so easily, I can start my spring and summer garden ahead of time, enjoying trying seeds for different hard to find varieties. This has been a total game changer.

Seem like good quality, very bright and pleasantly neutral light. There were some issues with shipping and their customer service went above and beyond to take care of it for me. Very impressed.

Took almost 6 weeks to arrive so I bought another system to tide me over. The picture shows 2 lights in the listing so when the description says 4' naturally you think you're getting two 4' lights - nope. I ended up using them as overflow. My husband put them together and one of the shades didn't even fit and bent as he was putting it on. I would NOT recommend this product and I won't buy again. Very disappointed. It's all assembled otherwise I'd send it back.
