His parents said he couldn't wait to open the box and they all had fun assembling this island
This was an enormous hit for my grandson, who lives in Poland and covets all things Legos. His parents said he couldn't wait to open the box and they all had fun assembling this island. Legos are high-quality, last forever and are simply the best gift for boys. If you have a lad from about 5-6 years (until practically graduation) this will be a favorite.

Missing Mini figure "Dogshank"
The mini figure "Dogshank" was not included within the set. Very disappointing

Decent size for the piece count
Island has a nice footprint. Good minifig selection and playability. The movable jaw play feature at the base of the main island is not fine tuned but the beauty of Lego is you can tinker with it. Highlight of the set is the palm tree. Perfectly executed.

looks gorgeous, minimal play functions
This is a gorgeous looking set. With some fantastic figures. The only downside with it is it is fairly static. It is nore an excellent backdrop for your Ninjago figures. The actual play elements of this set are a bit meh. For figures we have; Sensei Wu wearing an old style flying helmet with goggles. This facilitates him flying his little balloon. It's a great little build. Plus he comes with his normal straw hat (the newer pearl gold one.) Nya, Ninja of Water version. Yes we finally get Nya as a Ninja. This is her in her Sky Pirates Dark Red outfit. She includes the newer one shoulder armor piece. Ghost Cole. We get Cole in his Living Ghost form. Which is really Sky Pirates Cole with a sand green dual sided headed giving him an undead pallor. Like Nya he has the new one shoulder pauldron. Squiffy the Sky Pirate with a pirate glider backpack. he is a nicely detailed figure, with a nice little flyer build that clips onto him. Dogshank, the sets centerpiece. The bigfig Sky Pirate. She is awesome. Great sculpt and colors. Some add on details such as the shoulder flags. She is the must have element of the set. The reason why you get this set. The Tiger Widow Spider, is a small brick build monster. And honestly by Lego Spider Monsters standards, it is lame. This set needed something like the amazin Spiders we got in the Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit and Harry Potter. The best that can be said of this one is it has a few interesting parts. Mainly a black Samurai Helmet with a gold crest. Yeah the spider is more fun if you take it apart and use it elsewhere. And the main build, Tiger Widow Island is... okay... It looks great with bursts of color and nice greenery. It has multiple levels to pose figures on. It's action or play features are a bit boring. a falling palm tree, dropping coconuts and the skull face opens. Really the main function of this set is scenery. It makes for a gorgeous display backdrop. And blends well with some other better sets such as the Temple of Airjitsu. It's a great set if you get it at discount. A must have. At full MSRP it feels a bit steep for what it is.

But he figured out and really enjoyed doing it
My 6yr old absolutely loves this. I was not sure if he could assemble this. But he figured out and really enjoyed doing it. Keeping the pieces without losing them is a challenge but it is worth the effort when kids enjoy something!!

A huge hit!
My Lego fanatic went nuts for the unique character in this set. Good set. Lots of fun features and very sturdy once built.

I always used to get annoyed with house sets that had no back on them
I always used to get annoyed with house sets that had no back on them, but it makes it easier to play or set up a scene with the minifigures. Nice set, I would buy it again. It is a bit smaller than it looks, but not a whole lot. LOTS OF VERY HANDY PIECES. Like it.
