While pouring the water into my cup, the steam gave me a really bad burn on my hand which took some time to heal. That was enough for me to decide to purchase this one. I like the size, I like the long spout and I especially like the thermometer on the top. Before ordering, I did not think the thermometer was such a big deal, but now I LOVE it! The kettle holds just enough water to brew a 16 oz cup of coffee, and a secondary half way warm up. If you do not have extra large mugs like I do, I think it would boil enough water for 4 regular cups of tea or coffee. It boils the water very quickly. I am a single woman who only drinks one cup of coffee a day, and this is a perfect product for me. I can't believe I took so long to order it. I like the matte black, (I am sort of a mini minimalist who decorates with mostly neutrals and black accents and this is a darling addition to my stovetop.
