## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can you use this for homemade hair leave in creams?**
A: Absolutely!!! That's the reason I bought this wax and it works greeeeat!!!

**Q: Im just starting to make my own lotions. my first batch came out griddy and the wax keeps clumping. what am i doing wrong? any suggestions? thank u!**
A: It could be alot of things. First are you melting your wax all the way? And if your recipe is using water are you making sure you warm up the water as well, because if you add your wax to cold water and try to "emulsify" the lotion it will clump instead of turn into a nice liquid. You also have to be whisking your wax as you add in your water to make sure everything is getting blended and doesn't have time to clump. I have a really easy recipe if you need it! I have never had issues with it and the lotions turn out amazing each time!

**Q: Is this vegan and cruelty-free? Thank you**
A: Hi....This is not vegan. It is cruel to people which is worse than cruelty to animals--depending on your definition of cruelty. Polysorbabe 60 is one ingredient you can look up on the web. PEG-150 is in the "Peg" family of chemicals. PEG's usually have a number following them, and they are a large family. There are multiple cancer risks including breast, leukemia (blood), bladder, brain, esophagus, stomach and pancreas. PEG's may also contain PAH's which have been known since the '60's to cause breast and other cancers. (PAH = polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons)Can be in children's shampoos and many many lotions and creams and personal care products. Additionally, this will not be on the label: 1,4 Dioxane ...which is also in agent orange herbicide used in jungle warfare to kill the brush so the enemy cannot hide. It is related to liver, lung, gallbladder and skin cancers. The only way to know the company is up on this is to call them and talk to a scientist and ask if they have stripping of their ingredients and see what they say. If they are clueless, you know the answer. Sometimes, if a product only has one of these, like the polysorbates, it is most likely not too harmful. But mixing all these together, and with multiples, I wouldn't touch it.Some companies make formulas for the US with the harmfuls, and for EU without them since Europe has stricter cosmetics laws there. For other information, try www.preventcancer.com. Hope you are doing well. PEG's dissolve oil and grease and strip skin of natural moisture, harming natural immunity.

**Q: Stuff supposed to be nontoxic but Skin Deep says contamination concerns, ETHYLENE OXIDE, 1,4-DIOXANE, how can I be insured against presence of these?**
A: I don't make the product so I can't give you an assurance that it hasn't been contaminated. However, those chemicals are not listed as ingredients. Another website lists these as the ingredients: (Derived From) Cetostearyl alcohol, and Ethoxylated Sorbitan Ester. It also lists "Ethylene Oxide- Absent". This was the website that I was looking at: https://www.mountainroseherbs.com/products/emulsifying-wax/profile

Good quality

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ good for diy lotion
*by K***R on November 6, 2018*

Since I don't use preservatives in my face lotion, I need to make a very small batch to last a few days, and this works great. Recipe: I use water, oil, and this wax at 8-4-1 ratio by volume. (I use distilled water and olive oil). I put oil and wax in one little jar, and the water in another. I put both jars in a pot of cold water (double boiler idea), heat it up, and when the oily mix is melted, I take both jars out, let them cool a little, and then pour the jar water in the oily stuff. Stir well, and stir every few minutes for 10 minutes, and you'll have a great cream/lotion when it's FULLY cool!
