Rolling Stones -- Hot Rocks 1964-1971: Authentic Bass TAB (Alfred's Classic Album Editions)

A nice collection of several of the classic Rolling Stones hits. I really dig open guitar tuning and Keith Richards has a wealth of technique/application. I would recommend to anyone needing to cover the early signature chart busters.Hot Rocks 1964-1971 is exceptional resource in dialing in the proper chord voicings. Bravo, to Alfred's and Amazon!

Bill Wyman's bass lines aren't ll that complicated I bought this primarily as a time saver and quick reference guide. For that it works.I question the accuracy on some of the transcriptions. They seem to be in the correct key but the fret placement doesn't always sound right. As any player knows that can often be a matter of preference.Example: for Brown Sugar the book has the C at the third fret. To my ears the record sounds more like he plays it at the 10th fret on the E string. Yes this is nitpicking but the reason for buying tablature books is to get that accuracy.This book will get any beginning bass player rocking with his Stones CDs more advanced players may want to just "play it by ear" or use the many tools available on the internet or apps (Songsterr is a great app, Ultimate tabs is also good. I'm fairly certain that all these songs are easily found on one if not both).

This book offers arrangements that can range from spot-on accuracy to just "winging it" - sometimes within the same song. What really turned me off on this project was the purposeful inclusion of songs that never had bass parts (Play With Fire and As Tears Go By), with the suggestion to "make up your own bass part".Bill Wyman and Keith Richards' (the latter on Sympathy For The Devil) bass guitar arrangements could have (and should have) been better served

It works but I'd love to know how to play some of the Stones songs faithfully without using all of the alternate tunings.

A good idea made with average skill: The tabs are just barely legible on my iPad at the scan resolution used. Reading on the laptop Kindle app actually proved to be WORSE as i was not able to enlarge the pictures of the tab pages. This endeavor would have been better accomplished through secure PDF if the are not going to offer scans at higher resolution. Stick with hard copies of tabs until higher resolution offered. publisher should list the resolution of pictures based on hard copy size (roughly 9"x12"); 300 dpi should be considered a minimum resolution.

I purchased this music book because I'm teaching myself to play bassand having the tabs along with the music helps me find the frets quicker.The Stones music is pretty easy to follow. I learned "Let's Spend the Night Together" In only a few tries.Now, I am going to get the matching CD to play along.

This Tab book also shows Keith Richards alternate tunings, and charts out solos, which make all the difference in the world. Excellent book for a person wanting to learn Rolling Stones classics.

The tabs are accurate, including helpful information about Keith Richard's alternative tunings - something that can other trip you up when trying to play some Stone's songs. Highly recommended if you want to get into the solos and the various guitar parts.

Great book always had a soft spot for the Stones, always been a massive Beatles fan but I like both bands as they both have their strengths, the Stones have many great lead riffs like Brown Sugar, 19th Nervous Breakdown, Satisfaction etc. many in this book and all in all it has been a great addition to my music collection

Wish all guitar transcriptions where like this one.Of course if you already have - After math, let it bleed and Beggar's banquet ...You have most of the songs that you'll find here.A great serie , one of the best in my opinion.

Nearly all the good Stones ( Jagger/Richards ) songs done mostly with an acoustic flavour - if you wanna play Stones stuff ..you need this tab book !

Not fully accurate in parts

Excellent Rolling Stones tabs for the bass guitar. The best way to learn the correct notes to play with out being a member of the band
