Hands down, my favorite curly hair product and worth every penny...and yes, I have tried them all. I love the smell, the curls, the hold, and it's not crunchy....oh and I am POSITIVE it cuts my drying time in have with whatever magic that is.

I have 3a - 3b fine/medium hair. I first tried out this product about a year and a half ago. I was transitioning into wearing my hair naturally curly after years of straightening so in the beginning my hair would take hours to style just to get it to look decent. So if a product didn’t give good hold or didn’t make my curls for at least a few days it would be very frustrating. As soon as I tried this gel, I was in love. It has incredible hold, so you get definition and shine that lasts for days. Yes it can leave a cast on your hair when it first dries, but as soon as it’s 100% dry you can break the cast. You can do this by scrunching or picking it out. Or you can use a hair oil or hair serum (like two drops), rub it between your hands and then use your hands to scrunch your hair to break the cast. After that, the curls are shiny and soft without any sticky feeling or residue. It does not weigh your hair down too much, it smells fantastic, and a little goes a long way. So one tube lasts a long time for me. And I kid you not, it will continue to look great after 3-4 days, which I don’t usually go much longer than that without washing because I workout and sweat a lot. It’s funny, in the year and a half since I tried this product I would go and try something else just because I saw a product that looked interesting, and I think I’ve tried 10 other products at one time or another and some would work ok but almost always I wouldn’t get the same results. So now I call this gel “Ol’ Reliable” because the results are consistent every single time I use it. And I get compliments on my hair all the time. People will ask me what I use and this is what I recommend. Everyone’s hair is different but if you have similar curls like mine and your hair tends to get frizzy easily because it’s on the finer side, definitely try it out!

I’m very happy with this Curlsmith In-Shower Style Fixer. I have wavy/curly, chin length hair that is thick yet easily weighed down by oils due to low porosity. I was tempted to try this due to the in simplicity of in shower application. I only used a quarter sized amount for my whole head and the cast was heavy with zero frizz. I was afraid it would be too heavy but after I broke the cast my hair didn’t feel weighed down at all. I lost a little volume probably due to the fact that I didn’t towel dry my hair at all. On day 2 my how looks and feels pretty good. Next time I’ll use a little more product and squeeze out excess water first so my hair dries faster and has more curl. Overall this worked better than expected although not as good as my usual routine which is olaplex #3 and 6 on towel dried hair. But I like that this is a silicone free option and I will try it more. This is definitely my best experience with a gel. The smells of curlsmith products are like flintstone kid vitamins it’s so strange haha. It not bad just a powdery fruity smell. Doesn’t longer on head or bother me but it’s odd. Welp olaplex smells like Hawaiian Punch. Idk why brands choose these bizarre scents for their products.

I’ve gone through sooo many curl gels, and this one is easily one of my favorites. The hold is super strong, but somehow my hair still feels soft after I scrunch it out. No weird crunch or stiffness once it dries, just really defined curls that actually last all day. Big bonus—it really helps with frizz. My shoulder length curly hair usually puffs up by mid-day, but this keeps everything looking way more under control, even when it’s humid. Also doesn’t flake or get gross when I layer it with my other products, which I appreciate. A little goes a long way too, so the bottle lasts forever. Honestly just a really solid gel that does what it’s supposed to do. Definitely a go-to for me now.

I love this gel. The results are undeniable. My curls look amazing and I’ve gotten so many compliments. But this tube is comes in is awful! The cap came broken. So I can’t close it so it stands with the opening facing down. Gravity would absolutely help get the product out of the tube. It’s very difficult to squeeze. So much so I purchased a separate tube squeezer but it didn’t work. It’s always a bit difficult when you’re styling your hair because your hands are wet and slippery. But I found this tube, particularly difficult to manage during styling. So much so that I can’t imagine struggling through this again and I honestly can’t wait to be done with it and hope to find something that provides similar results in better packaging. I would absolutely return if they were to improve.

L O V E this stuff! My curls were still getting extremely frizzy after use of many different products. This is in my auto delivery now! Work into soaking hair with damp, praying hands and then scrunch. I diffuse with my head upside down and wahlah! Great curls. Just dont use too much or they do get crusty. A little goes a long way!

Note: I give one star based on my experience with this product. Everyone's hair is different so you may have better experience. My hair type is 2a/2b mix (mostly 2a), low porosity, not chemical or heat treated, hair strand type is medium-thick mix, and quite long (falls to my elbow). Hair is soft to the touch, but gets frizzy (curls and flyways) almost as soon as it dries/ exposed to humidity. I tried this product in different conditions (changing the shampoo, leave-in etc) and amounts, never saw any improvement. The only noticable change happened when I fiddled with the amount used, and that's described below. When I tried the recommended amount there was no cast to crunch. After drying it felt like each of my hair strand (note: strand, not lock) were covered in sticky mud (it didn't look bad, but felt really rough to the touch). And it was frizzier than ever. Then I tried with more product because I thought I'd need more because of my thick hair. Now there are was a cast, but it was not the type I could scrunch out. Maybe I'm doing it wrong but locks of my hair felt like they have been laminated/stuck together with glue. This product does "hold" the some curls I had, but only by being sticky, and not by locking in the moisture. The smell of the product is like some scented erasers I had used in school. As a child I liked that scent in pencil erasers, but not interested in my hair smelling like that. It's not a nauseating chemical smell, and it's not a herbal/natural smell. More like a sharp sweet smell. I would have tolerated it if the product worked for my hair. Still, if you are fragrance sensitive, better give this product a miss.

Produit très fixant qu'il faut absolument appliquer sur cheveux très mouillés. Ne convient pas à mes cheveux fins ils sont collants et gras.

Der Curlsmith In-Shower Style Fixer überrascht positiv: Anwendung: Lässt sich leicht in nasses Haar einarbeiten, braucht aber etwas Übung bei der Dosierung (bei mir reicht eine kleine Menge). Wirkung: Der Halt ist tatsächlich stark, aber das Haar bleibt flexibel. Nach dem Auskneten wirkt es nicht betonartig. Duft & Gefühl: Angenehm, nicht zu intensiv. Kein beschwerendes Gefühl. Pro: starker Halt, gut für dicke Haare, kein Verklebungsgefühl. Contra: relativ hoher Preis, kann bei zu viel Produkt etwas hart werden. 👉 Fazit: Ideal für alle, die Locken definieren und lange fixieren möchten. Besonders für kräftiges Haar geeignet.

I have been struggling to find a gel that keeps my curls looking luscious for more than the wash day! I finally found the one! If you don’t like a very strong hold then this might not be the one for you.
