This thing is MAGIC.
I seriously cannot believe how well this worked (and also feel totally guilty for not discovering it sooner!) My little guy Baxter (a curly haired rapscallion of a Cavapoo) was dealing with an eye injury and was overdue for a grooming BEFORE the doc said he couldn’t be bathed/groomed until he healed, but the poor guy was getting little matted clumps all over—felt like something had to be done. I originally bought a wider (and much more expensive!) one that did nothing—but took a chance and gave this one a try and it is AMAZING. I’m not entirely sure how it works—but somehow gently rakes through the knots like they aren’t even there and puts Baxter right to sleep he finds it so relaxing! I’m not in the least bit worried about pulling/cutting/hurting him with it—he even scootches around to make sure I have access to all of the angles! Highly recommend for any doodle/doodle-adjacent pups!

A tool that actually works as advertised. Wonderful.
Wonderful. My cat had gotten into something as had three bad mats on his back. The comb loosened and removed them without too much fuss or argument with the cat.

Great brush
My senior cat is very sensitive so it can still be challenging using this brush, I have to use a treat to distract her like I always do, but this is my best little comb for her so far. She has a hard time reaching her backside so she will get matted hair clumps and I try to keep it under control. The only thing that’s been a small problem is that the comb faces to one side (left) of the handle. Naturally it goes in the right hand in order to brush downward, which works for me because I’m right handed, but it makes it harder to get all angles of your pet unless you move yourself around or put your hand/wrist in an awkward position. This is opposed to a brush with the comb teeth straight on with the handle. With that being said though, it’s not a big deal and I just move myself around her since I don’t want to disturb her much. I also like that this brush is small. I got one with similar comb teeth before but it was much bigger/wider. I like how I can focus on a spot better with this and tug less on her.

Not comfortable for right handed use.
I don't seem to be able to use this for my dog because it seems to be set up for left handed people. I don't remember reading that but iam a right handed person and it is most awkward tool in my right hand. If you are a lefty go fir it!

Best tool in my grooming kit
I have many tools for combing my five cats, but I have one cat that has fur that seems to almost grow in tangled. I've brushed her for a couple of hours every night since she arrived as a stray five years ago, but she would still form mats in certain areas - on her stomach, her hind quarters and behind her front legs. This tool has made all the difference in removing mats she had and in keeping them from forming. I comb her gently with the tool because the tines are quite pointed. I hold the base of the most tangled fur between the fingers of my left hand while combing the tangle with this tool in my right hand. The tangles come out easily. I use this method because I don't want to tug on her fur. Her fur looks so much healthier and shinier since I began using this tool. It's great!

Easy To Handle
I really like the fit in the hand, comfortable and able to get a good grip on it. The comb goes through the fur with ease and it may look too small to use on larger breeds but it's perfect for the backs and heads of longer haired dogs. As for the mats/knots themselves it manages to get through them with minimum pulling.

Don’t waste your money
Unless you are a left-handed person do not even bother purchasing this. I was so disappointed in this tool. It does not do anything that it said it was going to do. It has hooks that pull the hair out of your pet. And if you’re right handed like I am, you can’t get it to work properly.
