The AMES Companies, Inc 00221400A Wood Wheelbarrow Handles, 60-Inch

The handles were the right length but I had to modify the holes to fit a different make of wheel barrow.So far so good,I have used it for several jobs and has worked out nicely..

Handles are well made and very sturdy. Upon installation all holes aligned. I would buy these again. BUT, when I purchased the handles I fell victim to the “Amazon recommends these items be purchased together”. I bought the handles, wedges, and bolts recommended. Well as I stated the handles were great, but for whatever reason Amazon only shipped one wedge and it was not predrilled. I see where others have had the same issue, so avoid the wedges. Now, the bolts recommend by Amazon. NOT ONE bolt fit, they were too short, too small in diameter, and all the same. The installation requires bolts of a larger diameter AND various lengths. So, my advise, buy the handles and nothing else, the other items are unusable.

It wasn't until these handles arrived and I took the old ones off that I realized I'd also need the wedges that go between the handles and the barrow tray, which were more deteriorated than the handles. It's ridiculous that they don't come with the handles. Also, be advised that for some bizarre reason, most, if not all, wedges are sold individually and you'll almost certainly need to replace both.

They are nice handles. Replaced handles on a two-wheeled wheelbarrow. All the holes lined up except for a pair on the narrow portion but just drilled two new ones. My only beef is the dimensions stated in the description stated 3.13-inch, that is the two handles together not each one. So they are basically 1.5" by 1.5". A little less beefy in one dimension but I am not about to push 400lbs so should be ok. Not sure about the make of wood but sturdy kind of looks like maple. As with any wood product, you leave it outside and it will wear and eventually fail, and that goes fur hickory too.

I will be honest. I was excited to find handles as a set to match my true temper wheelbarrow. Unfortunately these are made of popular wood, these trees are ment for interior paint grade finishes and pulp for paper. Very week wood for any other purpose. Don't buy unless you like replacing handles every wet season. Good handles are made of hickory like my framing hammer.
