Well made, easy operation and bright.
I have 2 of these and just bought 2 more. The existing ones have been running continuously 24/7 for about a year now with no issues. The remote lets you select colors, flash, fade, dim, etc and works well. you can also use the manual controls on the unit itself or control it with a DMX controller. I have them connected as master/slave with a DMX cable (no DMX controller) and have no issues. The beam on them is about a 3'x4' pattern if you set them on the floor and point them to the ceiling and the brightness is what you would expect with a 150W traditional incandescent spot with a filter. You will need one of these for every 5 feet of wall you want to light if you want to wash the wall in color. The colors are very full and rich and there is no flickering or dimming even after 9000 hours of continuous operation. You can daisy chain DMX and power between units and all the controls and power/dmx connections are on the bottom of the unit, not the back so you cant really stack the units because the power cords and controls are in the way but this makes it easy to install them flush against a wall.

Makes great uplighting
I have 6 of these chained together for uplighting on a stage. I usually leave it on the fade program and it will fade from one color to the next, though occasionally I'll use other settings. It's a nice effect and really upgrades the background look of the stage. I don't use the remote and should have purchased the version of this light without it because if you have them set up as master and slave the remote will override the slave setting and cause the other lights to change. You pretty much have to have the remote inches away from the master light, and if you're going to be that close it's just as easy to use the controls on the bar itself. These come with easy tool-less bolts that you can pretty much tighten and loosen with just your hands, but I would recommend changing them out for screws with allen heads. People keep fidgeting with the angle of the lights and I had one stolen once. I went to lowes and got the allen head screws and solved that problem. Just take the existing bolt with you so you can find the right threading, size and length.

Great light Good Price!
I bought this light to light up our school cafeteria during school dances. The cafe is about 20'x40'x15' in size. IT WORKS GREAT! It has its own programs that you can change it to meet your needs, random, strobe, fade, and much more. The room is bright enough 40 feet away that we can supervise the students without it being to obvious. Everything about this light is great! I would buy it again for sure!

Pretty good, not 100% intuitive
I use this as basic stage lighting for my solo act, and it does the job. It took me a little while to learn how to set it up, and now that I have the settings I need, I'm not touching it. I wish it was easier to navigate the various settings with the remote, but it works ok for my needs.

Works as advertised
This is a good product but it's my fault in not fully reading the specs as it's only about 20in long and therefore does not cover much wall or curtain to wash... It's bright enough using from the floor to about 14 - 16 feet just not as wide as I was expecting... The reds and blues are the best colors which makes sense since it's RGB I would have liked the green to be as deep as the reds and blues overall good product and works as advertised ...

Great up light cheap price.
For what I need it for this light is great. I use it to uplight my DJ Facade. I have 4 of them and wouldn't change them for anything. Although the longer version puts out more light this one is less prone to flickering without a terminator and they can actually take one hell of a beating. I dropped one of these from over 20 feet and I thought it was a goner. Sure enough it lit right up with no problems. Excellent choice if you are looking for inexpensive up lighting. Although I really do not like the pre-programmed effects and it can be complicated to operate if you aren't used to running DMX the pre-programmed effects and the sound mode work great. All in All I love this light and will most likely purchase more of them

Good, but won't last. Would give half a star if I could. 0.5/5.
I bought 2 of these LED bars in 2012. Writing this review in 2015. I'm a DJ and I used these at every job I got. You can always find a place for these no matter the location. I usually used them to light up my facade. They're also great when used as uplighting. Unforunately, I wouldn't recommend them for anything more than part-time work. See, I also used these as permanent lights for my bedroom. It was nice having full RGB color selection. I used them every day for about 3 years.Unfortunately, while the manufacturer claims 50,000 life hours for the LEDS, it's slightly misleading. My first LED bar started acting up a few months ago, where when plugged in, it would only illuminate a few of the led's at no more than 1% its available brightness. The control panel didn't work. It was essentially in a "limp-mode." After emailing American Dj (No response, of course) I ripped the unit apart and hooked it up to my bench-power, worked fine. I was able to determine the units PSU (Power Supply) was dead. There's no direct replacement (even looked up the generic model number on the PSU itself, hoping to find the same one maybe used in another application... Never found any). The factory power supply was rated at 12v @ 1.5A. I was able to find a CCTV camera power supply (12v @ 2.0A) on ebay and was able to fit it into the unit. It only costs $4.00 on ebay. (If you look up "PS12 V 2 AMP CCTV/LED LIGHTING" you can find the one I used. Works great.)This will require soldering and is a tight fit, but does work if you have decent electronics knowledge.I'm writing this review because what I thought was a one time unfortunate issue, turns out to be a manufacturing defect/fault. My second LED bar has just died. If you calculate how much i've used them (3 years, every day, for about 8 hours a day) it comes out to just under 10,000 hours. This seems to be the limit to the PSU. Why would they show off 50,000 hours LED life when the PSU dies at less than a fifth of that? You can't say I ran them for too long, because these units are advertised as having no duty cycle. They can be ran full time. Terrible customer service, terrible product. If you only plan on using this for part-time, go ahead. Works great. If you actually want to use what you bought for a reasonable amount of time, do more research and find something that will last.

Perfect for day or night!
Really bright, even in the daytime. Using them every day in our restaurant to light up a feature wall. 2 lights. 1 running as a slave. Really easy to set up. We run slow fade most of the time and music operated when we throw parties. These lights are amazing!
