We bought a new house and the lighting in each room is different. Some rooms have different types of recessed lighting, some don't even have lighting and the switch is connected to an outlet. Anyway, one of the rooms has recessed lighting and a couple of the bulbs were out so I figured I would buy a box that way I'd have extra in case more went out. Unfortunately, one of the bulbs didn't work and it happened to be the first one I grabbed so I lucked out on that one. Not a big deal since I didn't need all of them at once but I contacted Amazon and they said they would send out a new box right away and that they did. I sent the old box with the bad bulb back and almost three years later I haven't had to replace any of the bulbs again. However, this is in a spare bedroom that isn't used a whole lot so take that with a grain of salt. Pros: - Good price - Looks great - Lasts long Cons: - The first box I received had a bad bulb but the second box was fine. - They don’t replace themselves. Overall I’m satisfied with these bulbs. They were a perfect replacement. Even though I don’t use the room that they are in a whole lot they still have held up well over a long period of time. Would definitely purchase again, but it seems like I won’t have to for a while.

I have a large number of recessed fixtures in my home that require this type of bulb. I had been using Philips Halogena bulbs from Home Depot. I've always tried to use the same bulbs to avoid problems with varying brightness due to varying standards among bulbs and manufacturers. I've always cringed when I need to re-supply because they are always so expensive at the store. When I saw these on Amazon at a relatively low price I was skeptical. They are the same brightness and color as the other bulbs in my home. I can't speak to longevity because I haven't had them installed long enough to know. I hate the CFL equivalent because they are expensive, dim and harsh. Despite claims, they have not lasted long. I plan to buy enough of these to last a lifetime because incandescent bulbs are being phased out due to government mandate. The bulbs came well-packaged and none were broken when I opened the package

Theae bulbs integrate seamlessly with the 120 volt bulbs in the other fixtures. I can't tell the difference in the light output or color. I hope they will last longer than the 120 volt, as they should, since it's a pain to change them! I agree with others, hwever, about the packaging. It's a testament to UPS that they arrived unbroken! The box was incredibly flimsy, and actually "imploded" and coming apart, due to poor tape. The bulb pack itself was wrapped in very thin bubble wrap, and was essentially loose in the box, with 2 half-deflated blister packs on one side only. Sheesh, Amazon! What would it cost to package these adequately? Certainly less than the returns you must have!
