Great Italian Candies
I bought these to give as gifts inside a glass candy holder. These came in a big plastic bag. They were individually wrapped and packaged well. They kept well, no problem with being stale. They are a hard candy, some lemon flavored, some orange. We really liked the flavor. You can tell the difference between the flavors. They taste sweet and delicious. After filling the candy dishes for gifts, I filled a candy dish for my table. My kids love them. This bag is a good value for the money spent.

I found these anise candies when I went looking for the square red anise candies in the red cellophane wrapping I remembered from when I was a little kid, many years ago. While looking I realized that even if I found ones that looked like those red ones they most likely wouldn't live up to the expectation created by nostalgia. I believe these colorless and transparent hard anise candies are less sweet than the ones I'm remembering, more like chewing a fresh picked anise leaf or crunching some dry anise seeds, and that's all to the good. I ordered a 7 ounce bag first and needn't have bothered. I knew from the first delicious candy that I'd be ordering the big bag. Not only do these taste like a sip of anisette, their elongated oval shape has a really nice "mouth feel". Very good quality candies and a good value when purchased in the 1 kg/2.2 lb bag.

Orange Lemon 50/50 mix of 195 individually wrapped hard candy
There are 195 candies in my 2.2# (1 kg) bag, shape is of a 3/8 inch arched cut of fruit, with segment indentations. The flavors are slightly tart and appealing. There are no seam-lines to scratch your mouth like hard candy often has. The flavors are printed in Italian on the wrappers (orange arancini, yellow limone), ingredients are on the bag. The wrappers are opaque. These candies are more high end than they appear. I like that they use natural dyes. I had hoped to give them out on Halloween (along with some other treats). But will keep these to share with friends. And a nice addition to the office candy dish.
