Nice bucket!
I bought this bucket because a "friend" ran off with my last primary and I needed to make a batch of plum wine. I am definitely please with this purchase. The included spigot is pretty nice, and I like that it can be rotated to point up or down, so that I can leave it up while I ferment and down when I use the bucket for bottling. I also like that it's a twist on/off instead of the "accidentally lift up the lever and spill wine everywhere" style lever. This will replace my current bottling/degassing bucket, which is too big, as well as being my primary fermenter, so it's a space saver as well. The hole for the airlock is a tight fit, but I like it better than my old one which required a rubber bung to hold the airlock. The measurement lines on it are great, and seem to be accurate, and as a bonus it has some other useful information (an ABV chart and some other charts that I forget right now) printed on the sides. It's a thermoplastic, so I wouldn't want to put boiling water in it, but I did add a freshly boiled honey/water solution to my plums, which brought the temperature to 130 or so, and the bucket didn't deform. It seems very sturdy, and is made by Ropak, who seemingly make just about every bucket or similar container in the US. Stop thinking, and buy it already!

Good bucket.
Somewhat different from the picture currently associated with it, the bucket has "True Brew" embossed on the front and a blue lid. The lid snaps on extremely tight. While the manufacturers present this as a "bottling bucket" I have found that the 6.5 gallon size and the location of the spigot (1 inch above the bottom of the bucket) makes this an excellent vessel for fermentation. The trub (sediment from fermentation) of a 5-gallon batch does not rise above the bottom of the spigot; I'm able to use the spigot, rather than a siphon, to bottle. The spigot lever has "On" and "Off" in raised plastic - white on white. I used colored Sharpies to highlight "Off" in red and "On" in green. Make certain the spigot is closed before filling! There is a slight tendency for the spigot to leak when one is opening it, but it's just a couple of ml. The bucket has a sturdy wire handle with a rotating plastic grip in the center.

Works perfect, would buy again
Bought as a gift to my husband. The lid is difficult to put on for me, but my husband doesn't have any issues. Spigot works great and is suprisingly easy to clean. Wish the spicket had a cap of some sort to put on it because my dog keeps trying to lick it. The spigot hangs low, so we have to keep the bucket on the edge of the counter, which is an inconvenience, but it never leaked and makes bottling a breeze. We have done three brews in here, each a couple months long before reracking them onto one gallon carboys (with different adding to give variety of flavor). This has really increased our output. The bucket lid has started to bow a little from wear, but that's common with plastic items. Overall we are very satisfied and it was well worth the money. Would buy again if I had more 1 gallon carboys. Holds 5 gallons of liquid with plenty of head room for our brews.

Could be better
The lid seal doesn't hold up so great, there is a hole in the spout that spits out if not turned the right way but it did the trick for 2 brews.

The easy way to brew!
Excellent product! No leaks! I think the people who complained about leaks forgot to make sure they put the rubber rings on both sides. We tightened the plastic nut a bit with a wrench and it made a very tight seal. The lid fits very tightly and makes an airtight seal. The hole on top is rubber lined and a perfect fit for a standard sized airlock. Brewing our first batch of cider now. Check out the video review. This is way easier than brewing in glass bottles! One caveat: I recommend purchasing a bucket lid opener tool with this product. The lid is very difficult to remove, and requires a great deal of elbow grease to put back on. On the bright side, very tight seal!

No hole for spout
Came with spout but NOT with a hole in the bucket to attach. Last time I bought this same product hole was already provided and spout ready to be attached.

Your mileage may vary
I ordered two of these on two separate occasions. The first one was shipped from Home Brew Ohio and reflects the pictured bucket well (It says Home Brew Ohio on the front). It came with the Red Italian bottling spigot and a light, easy open lid as pictured. It arrived promptly and the spigot turns upside down so it is not touching the floor when fermenting or rocking the bucket to aerate the wort. As other reviewers commented, this setup works well for fermenting and bottling in one bucket and skipping the racking to a a separate bottling bucket. Most of the trub stays behind because the spigot is high enough. I'd give the first bucket five stars. The second one was shipped from HomeBrewStuff, which also arrived promptly. But, they instead me a bucket with a cheaper, non-rotating spigot (similar to this one http://www.amazon.com/Brewcraft-Bottling-Spigot-Bucket-Homebrew/dp/B009CTQGE4/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1398883197&sr=8-2&keywords=bottling+spigot). The spigot snapped off after a few hits against the floor while rocking the bucket back and forth to aerate the wort. Also, the lid was a heavy duty snap-on lid similar to paint buckets. It is a bear to get on and off, you need a screwdriver to pry it off and bang it with a hammer and literally jump on it with your full body weight to get it to snap tight. Furthermore, the rubber grommet was not properly installed on the lid (the hole was drilled too big) so the grommet was in the lid too loosely and fell in the wort when I put in the airlock. I improvised with Saran Wrap, and I asked for a new lid given the problems with this one, and they sent me a replacement lid, but the same awful paint bucket lid that requires tools to pry off and a hammer to snap on tight. I am considering buying the separate light weight cover. Zero stars for this one as it does not represent the picture. The two most important parts (spigot and lid) were wrongly represented. So: Watch who the seller is.
